Welcome to The Platinum Board. We are a Nebraska Husker news source and fan community.
Sign Up Now!He did move it behind the paywall. The story Tim refers to is premium content. They don’t reflect it in the publicly available list. Tim has a pretty good list.Pretty sure he uses the On3 visitor list and he's not on there yet. I think Mongo is in charge of updating it so that might explain it too. I know Dean doesn't like to update it too quick because he was complaining that the info gets out too fast after they do. He was talking about moving it behind the pay wall awhile back.

I think that poster and the HuskerAI account only have access to the public list. BMunson probably only updates it when Dean gives him the ok because of those accounts. Hence Dean wanting to move it behind the paywall. He did move it behind the paywall. The story Tim refers to is premium content. They don’t reflect it in the publicly available list. Darion was sitting on his coach
No way Darion reconsiders? Does Ferentz retiring and/or Huskers having a breakout season move the needle at all?Darion's mom is a "Husker" fan, but his dad is a pretty big Cockeye fan. My sister is fairly close with his mom.
I heard a couple of fun stories over the weekend about Darion's recruitment. Cockeye St was another school that was recruiting Darion pretty hard prior to his commitment to Cockeye. Immediately after the Cockeye St v Cockeye game - Darion was sitting on his coach watching the coaches shake hands - Darion got a text message. It was from Jon Heacock, Cockeye St's DC. I can't remember exactly what the texted said, but it was extremely passive aggressive about his decision to go to Cockeye.
Darion was shocked and didn't know what to say back - the game hadn't even been over for 5 minutes. He showed his dad the text and his dad told him that the coaching community is pretty tight- knit and you don't want to burn any bridges. So Darion just texted back something along the lines of "Congratulations...great win." Almost immediately Heacock fired back with another passive aggressive text. The Jones family was very unimpressed with Heacock's actions.
Apparently Cockeye has continued to tell Darion that they are going to target Donovan in the portal and that they will get him to Cockeye too. I'm not saying that there is tampering, per se, but that's what they are telling Darion. And their mom also didn't make it sound like Donovan is unhappy and will be entering the portal or anything.

Edited my original post. Accidentally said that their dad is a Husker fan. He is not. He is an Cockeye fan.
Told y'all!Damn, this weekend might be the most star studded visitor list to a Husker game ever.
Mongo just dropped his visit preview, and Nebraska will be hosting six of the top 30 players in the nation from the 2027 and 2028 classes. 👀 I mean, we can afford to have our annual cock tease with the No. 1 OT (who will be there and is also the No. 1 overall player) and finish runner-up as usual and still land a massive class.

That's not everyone. I concentrated on guys ranked in the top 200 nationally. The visit list includes five more 4-stars than listed above! And some of those high four stars could become 5 stars once the services update their ratings.
Another amazing thing about the list above, only two of them are taking their first visit to Lincoln (Gregory and Thompson). The rest have visited Lincoln at least once before. That 7-on-7 tournament and Hudl symposium was a stroke of genius and continues to pay off. Edit: I added a column for the number of visits to UNL, totals include this upcoming weekend.
I went on a pretty good rant about this, so I'll keep it short:at enough
I don’t really follow recruiting anymore.
Can someone plz explain to me why our 2026 class is ranked so poorly? And why all top 10 in state players (according to on3) are committed elsewhere?
That dudes legit. He does work in Omaha.I mean... they are going to hire Levar Woods to be the HC.
I don’t think it’s a broken fence. They don’t see much of anything they can’t live without.I went on a pretty good rant about this, so I'll keep it short:
1) When you don't try to put a fence around your state and let people come in and grab recruits your class will be lower because many times it takes longer to sell those out of state kids
2) We are taking fewer guys this year, so the class will be lower, but our average ranking is still middle of the road
3) When your lynchpin QB recruit is your lowest ranked player it makes things tough
4) Conversely, when you have a QB recruit in your own state that would be your highest ranked recruit but you have obligations elsewhere, that compounds things.
I'll stop there. I'm not happy with what's going on with 2026 but we are definitely young. And this weekend could change A LOT.
I agree with him that there are some kids overrated in-state.There also has been speculation that Rhule may now feel that, generally, well-regarded Nebraska players just won't pan out all that well if they come to Lincoln. It's based on the track record. Also that with the 105 limit here there will be a lot fewer Nebraska kids.
I'm not sure. I told my sister that I thought Nebraska was still going to push hard to flip Darion and she said that there is no chance. He is graduating early and will be at Cockeye in January. That being said, my sister has no clue about recruiting or any of this. She just knows what her friend tells her.No way Darion reconsiders? Does Ferentz retiring and/or Huskers having a breakout season move the needle at all?
I get it... but there's 17 dudes committed to FBS programs from in-state. There's more than 1 of those guys that can play for us.I don’t think it’s a broken fence. They don’t see much of anything they can’t live without.
Plus it’s a smaller class. They swing at some bigger names and missed. Account for transfers out and transfers in the class is probably roughly half full maybe a little over. They are saving a lot of NIL money to fill holes for next season over giving it to recruits this year.
