Baseball Official 2025 Nebraska Cardiac Beaver Slayers Baseball Thread - (33-29) - BACK TO BACK BIG TEN CHAMPIONS

Eh I love baseball, but if he creates a winning football team nobody will give a fuck that he doesn’t care about baseball. If 3 straight ADs have given baseball the cold shoulder, there’s probably a reason why.
I can't speak for @PonyBoy but the bigger issue is promises made.

But it's completely a false belief that baseball can only be funded at the expense of football.

Dannen ain't creating anything with football. Rhule has created it all by himself and has the support of not just the BOR's, the major donors and as important, the fan base. Dannen is a warm body, sometimes in a suit.

Moos, during the process of interviewing 3 candidates, guaranteed facility improvements.

Alberts guaranteed Bolt it would be done.

Dannen has also went back on his word.

Ya, its ridiculous with the tired "nobody gives a shit about a sport if football does well."

Football hasn't done well, for a very long time, while other sports have which earn the right for improvements.

Left to right:

1. Cade Povich - starting pitcher for the Orioles
2. Spencer Schwellenbach - starting pitcher for the Braves
3. Emmett Olson - high A
4. Max Anderson - double A
5. Brice Matthews - triple A
6. Josh Caron - high A

FYI Brett Sears is currently double A. He's 6-4 with a 2.86 ERA

@Dawgsauce Brett Sears is a Atlanta Braves minor league player

Yikes.

It's the most in a 4 year period of any time in the history of Husker baseball. Including DVH.
Wow, that’s hard to believe. I’m having difficulty contextualizing it. Seems like the top teams in the country do that every year, if not more.

Oh cool. I thought I'd see more minor league Braves this year since Clingstones is right by my mom's house, but haven't made a single game yet.

Part of the context is that there was a period of time when a lot of MLB teams were prioritizing high school prospects in the earlier rounds of the draft. Since then, the draft isn’t as many rounds and teams have recognized that college players are often safer investments than high school kids, so the trend has flipped. Regardless, Erstad and Bolt have done a good job of getting some very talented players and developing them, the problem is that we’re lacking the resources to build depth the way that we need to compete nationally.

Schanaman is AA with the Braves too.

Olson is out for the season. Possibly TJ or the lesser surgery.

We're not a top program (team) though, which makes this more impressive.

MLB teams are more focused on college guys; fewer minor league teams, less rounds in the draft, etc have a play in it.

We're so close to that depth aspect to take the next jump, which is why I've been so adamant for facility upgrades and a little more money. We shouldn't be using revenue sharing to increase scholarships. $100,000/year does us no good, that's basically 3 full rides. It's embarrassing.

First off, yes, Hawks Field is the best playing facility in the B1G. And there's not a (current) close second. The playing surface is elite and matches with anyone in the country.

It ends there. Fuck you, Sam, and I know you read this forum.
Paid schills gonna pay schill.
