Yes, if they want to change anything it's that they should add way more time to dead periods.
A positive for the athlete piece of this is schools will be less able to slow play a kid going into their senior year. 2026 and 2027 kids are already committing etc. Let them sign and be kids for their senior season.
It will definitely be interesting to see how schools and recruits play it. My worry is that schools will just end up releasing kids from their NLI or telling them to fuck off right when they get to campus because now they can leave at any time anyways.
I had the same thought whilst reading this thread. Why even bother anymore?
It might make it harder for a school to dump a kid, but marginally so because no one is going to stay where they aren't welcome. It doesn't do anything for players because they can sign and transfer the second they hit campus.
