Well there's that. Not much of a surprise, but would be nice to land a 4/5 if Mast doesn't end up playing. I like the potential of adding Braxton Meah.

Yeah Meah makes sense but I think you still want another 4/5 type who can play out a bit more.

Nice thing about Morgan and Meah though is those dudes don't really miss at the rim and we have some problems last year with finishing easy ones that could have made a whole heck of a lot of difference

Fuck, was really hoping we'd get him. Seemed like the perfect fit for what Fred wants at the 4. Even if we add Meah I think we need a player who has length that can play the 3/4. Gary is a warrior but is only 6-6 and his outside stroke is really hit and miss. Not sure we have anyone with the length, size and speed to match up with taller athletic 4's. Is Morgan athletic enough to slide down to the 4 and if so will he be able to play away from the hoop? We know Mast & Meah don't have the foot speed to cover faster player further out from the hoop. I'm confident Fred will find someone taller than Gary that can stretch the floor to play the 4.

Other than Juwan and Brice, I really don't know who else is in a projected starting lineup right now if Mast doesn't play. A lot of positions up for debate.

I think one thing that nebrasketball has going for in it with the roster as currently constructed (knowing that it will fill out a bit more) is the team is pretty long as it is. Worster is 6'4", Williams is 6'6", Gary is 6'6", Griffiths is 6'8". I think there's a world where they add Meah and can put together a really solid defense/rebounding team just because they have good size across 5 positions even if the person who plays the 4 is a little undersized or a little slow.

In my view, the guy they need is another 4/5 type who can play out whether that is because they're a plus 3 pt shooter or because they are a threat to put the ball on the deck and get to the rim like Walker. Milicic was that guy and maybe another is out there. Obviously if Mast can't go that's a guy we don't have on the roster but assuming he can I feel pretty ok with where they're at with roster construction

Worster is the PG too, I'd imagine. Maybe Ulis pushes him and takes it, but I don't think so. And with missing on Kyle and Milicic, I think Morgan is now a starter too, if Mast is out.

Have we heard anything on Mast? It's been mentioned that he has told people he's run into when he's out drinking that he is coming back. That's the most I've heard. And then there are the rumors his might need additional knee surgery. Haven't heard anything solid on that. I'd think if it was anything major like ACL or PCL he would have had the surgery right after the season was over giving him a chance of being ready for at least part of next season.

There's definitely something to it because any time Washut talks about Mast on the radio he always prefaces with a "if he's ready to go" or "if he's healthy" kind of talk.

Need a stretch 4, but looking pretty good otherwise. What do you guys think are the remaining needs? A lot depends on Mast as well.
