People will eventually understand why Alberts' south stadium project announcement not only took people by surprise, but also didn't have booster support & to top it off, he hadn't secured (<5%) funds prior to the announcement. As we all know, the latter is a big no-no when it comes to Husker athletics facility improvements.
Other athletic programs across the country have great facilities, not just stadiums & arenas but their facilities as a whole, across multiple sports. With NIL. And they continue to improve what they have. But Nebraska can't? I don't buy it.
Sans the ignorant south stadium project, football is taken care of for the foreseeable future. Same with volleyball, basketball, wrestling, gymnastics & the list (possibly) goes on. FFS, bowling - which will never come close to covering itself, while baseball can - has a state of the art facility circa 2020.
Gordon & Erstad have expressed deep interest to be involved. They are 2 of the most recognized former players, of any sport, across multiple generations.
