I know people like to drink & stuff, but as a non-rich guy, I don't really get why people are so gung-ho to pay $8 per cup for stadium beer.
Because it’s fuckin baseball? The game is perfect for enjoying a cold beer on a nice summer night. Also $8 isn’t bad at all, I spent like $15+ at almost every MLB game I go to.

I don't understand how people go to baseball games and not pound beers.

When I got to MLB games (or college baseball games when I was in college) I'd go in expecting to drop $50+ on beers and food.

So what Ewald said on the DocTalk podcast about the Ables being stubborn about revenue split actually was horseshit.
3 days after he leaves the deal is done. Some odd things at the end with Turd & his boy…

Changes in lattitudes
Changes in attitudes ...

New leadership just sees it differently. I'm a teetotaler these days so I've got no "dog in this fight", but I agree with @Saudi_aurora: a baseball game is a perfect setting to (responsibly) enjoy a beer and a dog. I'm glad to see that people who attend games at the ballpark have the option to enjoy the experience even more.

No. The Abel's have been very difficult to work with the last several years, which dates back to Moos' time as AD. Because of this, Alberts had plans to build a new stadium on campus and it was suppose to be announced in the fall of 2023. But, Turd being Turd, that never happened and an explanation never came about.

IMO, this is a middle finger, from the Abel's to Alberts & Husker baseball. And Dannen gets a "public win" a few weeks into the job.

No idea how Turd was gonna fund all these building projects AND be competitive with NIL

People will eventually understand why Alberts' south stadium project announcement not only took people by surprise, but also didn't have booster support & to top it off, he hadn't secured (<5%) funds prior to the announcement. As we all know, the latter is a big no-no when it comes to Husker athletics facility improvements.

Other athletic programs across the country have great facilities, not just stadiums & arenas but their facilities as a whole, across multiple sports. With NIL. And they continue to improve what they have. But Nebraska can't? I don't buy it.

Sans the ignorant south stadium project, football is taken care of for the foreseeable future. Same with volleyball, basketball, wrestling, gymnastics & the list (possibly) goes on. FFS, bowling - which will never come close to covering itself, while baseball can - has a state of the art facility circa 2020.

Gordon & Erstad have expressed deep interest to be involved. They are 2 of the most recognized former players, of any sport, across multiple generations.

To your last point - how could and how can that be changed?

Thanks.

Gordon & Erstad? I don't know, it's not a secret around the AD Offices. Alberts and his Staff all knew. Same with 1890. I haven't had an update since TA left so no idea if Dannen has had talks with them, or other people, or what. I try to stay out of things during a season to keep distractions limited.

FFS, we go to a high school field with inclement weather. We can't take live hitting at the Hawks Center (football facility), the Gordon Center isn't big enough to do much outside of individual work and our weight room inside of the AGC is the size of 3.5 bedrooms. If that. Our locker-room hasn't been updated since Haymarket Park was opened for play in 2001. 23 years ago 👀

Not only that, but we also don't host the state high school tournament anymore because of all the bullshit behind the scenes. It's embarrassing.
