I don't know that he'd be amendable to a bench role after starting for Purdue.
His minutes and 3 point volume were similar to Wilcher though so maybe he'd accept it

Maybe Hunter Sallis can host him and pitch him on how to play your way out of the NBA lottery

Call me crazy but I am less confident when local guys are in this position and the talk is that they are really interested. Felt like Sallis last year and Chucky got a lot of smoke.
It could be that the narrative is changing and we are very much a player. It's no longer courtesy interest, Hoiberg is building a real program it seems and the interest is there.

I wonder if Hoiberg would go after him again. I remember liking his film plus the nickname Mongolian Mike is cool. I believe we were recruiting him as more of a PG. Probably wouldn't cost us much NIL $$$. Love the idea of a 6-7 PG to go with taller guard/small forwards like Williams and hopefully Griffiths and/or Fidler. Give me length and versatility at those positions.

Crazy right now because I’ve got literally no idea if we’ve got room for all of these guys. We should probably do a big board and scholarship distribution chart for basketball now.
I’m legitimately more interested in basketball recruiting than I am spring football right now. That has never happened.

That is probably healthy for the football team. The success that volleyball/soccer/wrestling/basketball x2 should only take the heat off the team and let them just go out and compete.

After Andrew Morgan there's still 6 open scholarships. IMO, I think both will be back, but it's possible Mast and Ulis could leave. I'm the same way though, I'm not even paying attention to the football team right now and find myself refreshing the basketball threads here and on tator island constantly throughout the day.

I can’t see Uhlis leaving simply because we had a chance to cut him loose and we didn’t last year. I know loyalty isn’t really a word used anymore. But if Uhlis doesn’t stick around and thinks entering the portal is best for him I simply don’t believe the world is saveable.
Mast could leave. But I kind of think he’s in the same spot now that Keisei was this time last year. So I don’t think he does, but it’s possible.
If Payne and Kyle both want N do you take them?
Whats the pecking order at guard? Do you take Fiddler and Griffiths if you can?

I don't see how you keep Mast, already have added Morgan and add both Kyle III and Payne. Only 2 of those 4 can play together at the same time and all 4 are talented enough to start in the BIG.
I think you take Kyle or Payne, then address the backcourt. Maybe you can add a depth/bench player in the front court, but neither Kyle or Payne are coming here to be that guy.

See I agree with you. I think it’s Kyle or Payne with Kyle being the priority and Payne his backup.
