I have a buddy who is a massive ISU guy, Omaha isn't nearly as good as the ISU staff thought he was going to be and hasn't developed at the pace they anticipated. Seems to be another 5 star flop.

Hoiberg may be able to get the best out of him though.

He's the classic "5 star bust" who recruiting services rated a 5 star on the idea that's he's got this elite athleticism, which he does, and he will just be able to figure out the playing basketball part of things. Obviously schools saw something projectable in him that he had his pick of where to go, but he was no where close to having 5 star basketball ability, imo

Honestly, I'd take an elite defender still. He'd have to be cool with coming off the bench, but a top flight athlete that can guard isn't the worst take ever.

And the idea that every 5 star athlete is a guy who carries a team from day one is dumb. Throw this kid in the lab for a year or so and see what happens.

Yeah I'd be thrilled if we.got him, but he was never ever going to be in the mold of guy who just showed up and was awesome day 1.

I think he could really grow in Fred's offense with the space and getting opportunities to get going downhill toward the rim. TJ's offense was an awful fit for him from the outset

Isu was good this year. But their brand of basketball is hard to watch.
