Without a mobile QB. It’s doubtful. But I don’t know what he ran a lot of at Houston. But don’t think he has at WVU
Not with Grier at WVU.. At Houston they ran alot more QB run game. RPO and lead draw. Specifically with King but kept it around for Tune... who was a much better passing QB

The QB room heading into year 4 was TJ who has durability issues and needs a ton of work in the passing game and that’s it. So I do not really see much of a QB room they put together. Understand DR left but seems like a pretty barren room this far into it Rhule’s tenure. That was the point however could be wrong and a bunch of P2 programs are setup this way. It just feels like we shouldn’t be this desperate with that room this far in.

Honestly I think that’s college football nowadays - there just aren’t going to be many places where guys willingly sit and good teams can always pull in someone new each year

Almost every single CFP team this year will be starting a transfer QB next year. It’s just the way it be’s now.

I believe Holgs took this job and kept Satt's pro style scheme because he wanted to use this gig to eventually get an NFL OC role, a rumor that's been around for a while. Dylan was the perfect QB to do it with. In my opinion, that ship has sailed.

I believe he's now at the point of trying to not look like a shitty OC and tarnish his legacy before he retires. I think we will see a lot more of old Holgs schematically next year hence moving to a scrambling QB. I could also be flat-out wrong on this.

What exactly is pro style ?

We have three capable QB's with power conference experience. You're not going to get much better than that in today's game.

I haven’t looked at all rosters so not sure but makes sense to stay old if you can. Maryland is bringing back their freshman QB however he is excellent.

I've said this to a few buddies...and I'm 100% serious...

I think PeeJay would actually do really well here. Why...because he gives absolutely zero fucks about a schools traditions or "how they've always done things." He's a maniacal coach who cares about his row the boat philosophy so much so that he basically told the Goph's and their Ski-U-Mah to pound sand for awhile.

While he is certainly cringeworthy...I like the fact they commit to running the ball, recruit massive human beings on the OL, and in general, I believe they're pretty well coached.

Roast me if you must...I give zero fucks, I think he'd be successful here.
I honestly thought PSU was going to “end up with him” after their whole debacle. And that scared me very much.

Idk how his shit would fly at a big time school, but he’s made for the B1G.

Aka “we really fucked Danny with the Dylan flip and that turned out less than desirable and I wish we hadn’t done that and if we overpay for him, it’s kind of like reparations…well not…reparations for a whi….you know what I mean”
Idk how we fucked Danny, I would hope the plan would always have been to recruit over him….

Kaelin is a great story, but if you have a shot you go after the five star Ohio State, Georgia and most other folks thought was a sure fire stud every time.

I can imagine the ass pain that would have been on display if we pass on the Raiola opportunity. Hindsight being 20/20, that may have been the better move, but even if we pass and duplicated the w/l records with Kaelin, TJ or whomever else as our QB, there would have been a strong contingent moaning about passing on a sure fire five star legacy.

Well by that I’d mean, we flipped him (an elite 11 participant) from Mizzou in summer, likely selling him on the idea that he’s THEE guy for that class. Then, 2 days before signing day Dylan FlipFlop flips.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t have gotten the 5* when they could, or that he wouldn’t have been recruited over in following seasons.

But to be treated as the guy of the class and heralded for flipping back home (which we always beg for from our local talent) only to be thrown to the side before you’ve even enrolled has to feel pretty shitty. And he did it with class and a great attitude by all accounts.

Agree. Kaelin had every right to shit on Rhule and hold a grudge. But he didn’t. Respect

Tim scored the transfer portal a D.
