Nebraska in a real good position to gain 2026 DT from La.

Dylan Berymon, a high 4* star DL from Monroe, LA, visited this last weekend and is VERY high on Nebraska. Nebraska is now seen as the team to beat for his commitment. This would be the highest rated player NU has acquired on the DL as a HS recruit since Ty Robinson committed in 2019.

Dylan is 6' 2" and 330 lbs.

Why on Earth would they have a high school kid on campus for a visit? This is all so incredible. Like a fighter taking a dive in a bout

High school recruiting doesn’t mean much anymore with the portal.
I mean... you still gotta get good young kids to develop. The top10 recruiting classes for 2026 are USC, Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State, A&M, Miami, Tennessee, and Texas. Indiana is 32nd for those wondering.

You can't ignore high school. I'll also say no matter what your feelings are on your local talent no matter where you are, you have to recruit local guys because it's a better shot they won't just take off at the first offer for more money. That's how you can build some depth.

I would try to recruit more regional and in state where those kids are less likely to leave if they are going to develop. I get looking for a qb across the country or some skill guys.

Agreed. Still have to play the HS lotto and see who you can develop/grow into future pros.

yep GIF

Don’t be surprised if this kid picks Okie State or Kentucky. Maybe they can’t quite offer the $$ we can, but both have momentum with new young coaches.
