Holgo seems amazing in our first two drives...after that, it becomes a lot of WTF at times. Fingers crossed with a new highly mobile QB we look a lot different.

On Defense...fingers crossed.

Holgorsen and Mike Shannahan have a similar history of looking like world beaters when their scripted plays work. Once the defense figures out what they’re going to exploit, that avenue of success is gone and they’re left hoping for great plays to win the day.

That hasn’t worked out so well for us.

I'm not trying to shine Holgo -- bc I think he's lost his fastball -- but I do think Dylan wrecked a lot of his drives in the 2nd and 3rd Qs of games. Dylan had a real mental block in that time period. He almost lost us the MSU, MD, NW games bc he was so bad in those Qs.

I don't think that will happen to Colandrea. I think Colandrea's flaws will be polar opposite from Dylan's. Colandrea's flaws will be playing too much YOLO ball. Dylan's flaws were he went into turtle shell mode in the 2nd/3rd Qs of games....and no one really knows why.

I don't think Colandrea has the ability to play Spencer Petras-ball. Even if Rhule tried to coach it out of him (as some have suggested) I don't think he could do it. I think at this point in his career he is who he is, which is very aggressive & a high risk tolerance.

I think we'll live and die by the sword on offense this yr. LOL at the people who think Colandrea is turning into Spencer Petras. That's not possible - he physically can't do it.

I see a Tommy Armstrong aspect to his game that will alternately thrill and infuriate the coaches and fan base.

I do agree that Holgorsen uses him differently. Don’t know for sure how that looks.

I'm not sure what I want. After the last several years of anemic offense with the only true excitement coming from an EJ play here or there. I think i'm leaning towards a gunslinging/freestyling/headscratching/nashing of teeth kind of offense.

I've given up on expecting victories and championships. Just give me something truly fun to watch.

I think he's more polished than Tommy though. He was MWC player of the year which even if you discount the league, it's still says something about him. The UNLV media people say Colandrea is good for one head-scratching decision per game. If Tommy could get his down to just 1 YOLO/game he'd have went to the NFL

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a quarterback who didn’t do something that was off at least a few times a game. Even the greats like Brady or Manning would do something stupid.

On the discounting him because he played in the MWC, that’s not my deal. The kid can play. A guys who has little success at a lower level is another story, but that’s not the case here.

One thing is for certain, it is not going to boring with Colandrea as our QB. The kid makes things happen, turns bad situations into good ones, and he will make you shout at the TV often in the same play….but it will not be boring.
