Arizona plays @BYU on Monday 1/26. Mormons win.

Nebraska plays @Michigan on Tuesday 1/27 where they will get the win over everyone’s darling. Nebraska plays Illinois at home on Sunday 2/1 where we complete the season sweep (already won on the road, so at home will be EZ).

Once this series of events plays out, there will be no way we are not #1.

If we go 5 and 0 over the next couple weeks including beating Michigan on the road, And handing a very good Illinois team a second loss.....Then hell yes we should jump to number 1. We have a tough stretch coming in the next 3 weeks. I honestly believe that we drop 2 game in the stretch from Jan 17 - Feb 10. We play # 4 michigan. #5 Purdue. and # 13 Illinois. No one in the BIG is a guaranteed win. We will have to continue to play exceptionally well.

Honestly I would prefer that we have a loss or two going into the BIG tourney and the NCAAs. I don't want this team to fall victim to what our VB team did.

I disagree with this part, here's why.

Volleyball always has everyone blowing smoke up their asses. Team is consistently ranked very high and every year is natty or bust. Those players know it.

MBB on the other hand is in uncharted waters playing with house money all year. I'd rather see them run the table and be overflowing with confidence to carry into the BIG tourney and NCAA tourney. I believe they are mentally tough, but I can see a world where one heartbreaking loss leads to an epic collapse.

Yeah I could see that too. My feeling is that a loss or two relieves the pressure of staying undefeated which is compounded in the tourney by the grey cloud of never winning a tourney game hanging over the heads.

Bottom line this team has swagger and resilience. Only they know what they can mentally handle.

I know we probably won’t win the National Championship, but when you’ve gotten to 17-0 and you’re playing with house money… Why the fuck not? Play your ass off each game and see what happens, enjoy the ride and shoot for the mother fucking stars.

LOl I love watching them but they do play like those Sunday night leaguers who have just finished their college career. Making the game look easy while casting off balance shots from the 3 point line in your face.

This staff is hitting on all cylinders, getting the boys to play at an unbelievable level right now. The ride they are on has every media personality praising this team while at the same time waiting for the shoe to drop. I don't want that shoe to go anywhere, keep this shit up!!

Having played basketball for a small college and going on an small winning streak, making to an end of year tournament was the best thing that every happened in my sporting life!! What this team is doing is CRAZY!!
