It's gonna be hard to stay in if we're rolling TJ at QB next year or just as bad Lagway, Chilles, or whatever piece of trash falls off the truck in the next 10ish days.
Ek bump...I'm about as optimistic as they come but I can't keep the faith if Ek is gone. Short of miraculously being pulled back in by winning a bowl game in 2026, I'm out on HCMR.
If the DL is not improved, I’m honestly starting to think he may have found a way to get himself fired after next season, even though it makes no financial sense.
I'll post this here, based on the news about Ekeler. If Ekeler goes to USC I'm out on Rhule.
Same. If you let Ek walk you're definitely not serious as a HC. He can practically kiss his ass goodbye now.
I'm not sure how you keep a guy who wants to go, unless you have $$$$$$$$ above what the other team is willing to pay and that is all he cares about. I don't believe that to be true about EK.
I know a lot of Nebraskans hate California and can't imagine why someone would go there. But not all people feel that way. And lets be honest.... USC is a better program then NU and its ceiling is easier to obtain then NU's. I don't know what Ek is getting paid here but im sure whatever he is going to get paid at USC will be plenty enough to off set the higher cost of living.
So does Rhule's job hinge on Ek staying or going? I certainly don't think so.

You are saying that Ekler's leaving is your realization of this? or that Ek realized this and jumped ship?
We've been behind the iceberg for 20 years. I don't see how Ek's exodus brings clarity to that revelation.
We are where we are right now. I don't see a sudden reason to jump from the titanic because of this. I think we back Rhule and this team for now. We are coming off of back to back bowl appearances, and while those of us who remember the glory days of old are saying "whoppie do," for many this has been a sign of success. I know things look bleak at going into next season. And maybe it will turn out so.... But we might as well back these guys for now....doesn't do any good to leave them stranded at this point.
I just moved from maybe Rhule can still turn it around to Rhule getting fired is inevitable. The positive about back to back bowl games is that Rhule was a better choice than Riley and Frost.
Being hand delivered an elite STC and not being able to retain him for any reason, but especially if he didnt want to lose a position coach for it, would make me genuinely pissed at him.
It remains to be seen what will happen and why, but not wanting to give him a position room would be one of the dumbest fucking things in recent Nebraska history.
