Not counting out the possibility of adding Baylor OT Sean Thompkins. Committed to UNC last week, then visited over the weekend. Now radio silent.2 deep oline so far?
LT — Elijah Pritchett 6’6 325 / Grant Brix 6’6 315
LG — Paul Mubenga 6’5 317 / Henry Lutovsky 6’6 320
C — Justin Evans 6’2 315 / Jake Peters 6’3 320
RG — Brendan Black 6’4 320 / Tyler Knaak 6’6 325
RT — Tree Babalade 6’5 330 / Preston Tuama 6’4 325
Looks good and beefy on paper. Would t say no to 1-2 more depth pieces
I will never expect a freshman to be playable, BUT if Odom is good and can play outside, getting Jones closer to the box would be a-ok with meI agree on the tackling I disagree on coverage.
He makes some good PBUs after being out of position but he also seems to get absolutely cooked on slants, hopefully fixable. I don’t mind him as our 3rd corner as I think Odom will be better.
Yeah you add Thompkins that's at least throwing bodies at a problem to solve it.Not counting out the possibility of adding Baylor OT Sean Thompkins. Committed to UNC last week, then visited over the weekend. Now radio silent.
Do we think its Mubenga or Thompkins for the "last" OL spot? Not counting out the possibility of adding Baylor OT Sean Thompkins. Committed to UNC last week, then visited over the weekend. Now radio silent.
Benning at Strong and Guthrie at NB isn't as bad as my gut reactionJones and Marshall at CB, with McDougle at FS. Plenty of experiene at those 3 spots.
Our nickel might be our 5* DB recruit.
The SS spot is definitely open. Rhett didn't do much in the bowl game. Guthrie has a lot of experience at FS and could move over.
Odem's gonna playI feel like CB and WR are the places where true freshmen can step in and play, though.
I don't think taking late round NFL guard prospects who played tackle too early in the SEC is a bad way to live in the Big Ten. That's how we ended up with PritchettI like Mubenga. He's started 2 half seasons at LSU. He had a rough rs/frosh season when he played but seemed to be better in 2025.
Personally think his OL coach (Brad Davis) is about as bad as Teasely at coaching. So think Geep might steal one here to mold into a good player.

Maybe it’s just the safeties that made me cringe.Yeah maybe I'm an idiot but I feel a lot better about the secondary than the line. Donovan Jones and Andrew Marshall are the answers at CB and if you have two high level coverage guys it goes a long ways to being a good defense.
Now they might have to cover for 18 seconds a drop back which is less than ideal
Guthrie is bad and needs 2 more years of development before he should even be rotationalBenning at Strong and Guthrie at NB isn't as bad as my gut reaction
Hopefully some of these guys who have spent years developing can finally start to look like draft prospects
I think so.Do we think its Mubenga or Thompkins for the "last" OL spot?
I'm willing to wipe the slate on Guthrie. New scheme, new player..Guthrie is bad and needs 2 more years of development before he should even be rotational
Yeah I'm more bullish on Guthrie than mostI'm willing to wipe the slate on Guthrie. New scheme, new player..
We'll see what happens though, I think the kid still has quite a bit of potential
Not an either/or situation there. They'd like to add both, assuming the $$ works out.Do we think its Mubenga or Thompkins for the "last" OL spot?
Luto is done. Young guys for depth, they like Pyle, Gottulla, Sledge.2 deep oline so far?
