Is it true that your mom pays for your sub?

It's official...

(But many you meant kinda funny that we haven't heard of him connected to any new teams or taking visits)

Yeah know it’s official.
But you are hearing who’s visiting where of all the top players.

Raiola wasn’t said to enter with a do not contact tag. So he’s open to anyone. Yet nothing

This a lame excuse, Texas Tech made an absolute haul last year in the transfer portal and were 8-5 in 2024.

David Bailey could've gone to any number of schools that were in the playoffs last year. So could Howard Sampson, Hunter Zambrano, Lee Hunter, Romello Height, Micah Hudson, Terrance Carter, Tarrion Grant and Cole Wisniewski. They chose to go to a team that had 1 more win than Nebraska did this year in a worse conference in fucking Lubbock, TX.

Why? Because Tech is spending. Nebraska is acting like they are spending. Joey McGuire is a college coach because of Matt Rhule and is now absolutely in a program that is running circles around Nebraska.
Well, the guy we are talking about transferred this year, not last year, so it’s kind of not the point.

But if you’re asking for agreement that Tech did an amazing job of rewriting the portal playbook last year to land several guys who wouldn’t have given them the time of day the previous year, then yes, absolutely.

You're not going to get a 100% yield on the SDSU defense. Lots of dudes who probably didn't get paid a lot will get eye popping offers, but grabbing some of the key pieces would be good.

I'd just keep the Hurrier, Jimari Butler, and Princewell in mind. Fony got the worst one, old man took a payday, and young stud went to playoff team

How are you feeling about Minchey?
I feel positive about it. I’ve been a pretty vocal advocate that we needed to bring in a guy with proven ability. Regardless of if we tried or not, it’s obvious that’s not happening. So, this seems like the best option of that other thought process of bringing in someone less costly to “compete” for the starting spot.

While I do believe competition is imperative to get the best out of people, if this is a true QB competition going into the fall then I would classify him as a miss.

If we’re bringing in guys that are truly competitive comps to LaQueef, we’ve spent money poorly and the team will have a ceiling of 5 or 6 wins next season.

I’m hopeful the “competition” is an illusion and Minchey is coming in to start right away.

I agree. I think the lack of production from those two in 2025 had more to do with how much of a stud EJ was.

Without looking it up - who was Ameer's backup in 2013? When you have an elite RB, the backups just don't get as many carries...

Nelson impressed me and I think we could expect to see him take a step forward in 2026, should that be the route we want to go. That being said, we also should be able to capitalize on EJ's success and bring in another elite RB.
I think elite RB is far less important than getting QB right.

While I agree, Nebraska needs to get into the 1-2-3 play drive business. Too many long drives killed by shitty execution. Gotta start hitting home runs
I remember 15 years ago we were saying the exact opposite.

“We score on too many chunk plays, can we grind out a drive?”

In reality, I completely agree that we need to have that component in the offense.

We really gotta stop using Cig/Indiana for comparisons like this. Theyre a total unicorn right now.

I'd love a Cam Coleman visit though.

People that think we need to just “do it like Indiana” apparently don’t realize that Curt Cignetti hasn’t made a poor decision since May 11 2009. Despite the waitress recommendation he ordered a Cuban sandwich when the reuben was on special and has never forgiven himself. He bought the restaurant and eliminated the Cuban sandwich from the menu, promoted the waitress and he still to this day carries a piece of paper in his pocket with that exact date written on it. His wife gets a hotel room every year from May 9th through the 13th and he disowned his youngest child for smiling once on May 11 of 2017.

We have Matt Rhule.

For me personally, a lot of the complaints were that the offense never had the ability to slow it down and grind out games, especially under Frost. It was "well we're a tempo offense, so we gotta do everything fast" and honestly Scat was the reverse side of that coin where everything was so slow because they planned on grinding out every game regardless

I don't know about that. Cristobal at Miami is certainly the foil to Cignetti. And they're both sitting pretty right now in the playoff. Same with McGuire at Tech.

We really shouldn't get distracted by Cignetti turning things around in 1 year, it's an anomaly. But Cristobal's results here are what you're really looking for when you hire a coach - you'll have signal within 2-3 years whether it's going to work or not.

Notice how they fired Manny Diaz even though he MAdeE BoWL GAmEs!!1 after his 3rd season to roll the dice with Cristobal and now it's paying off.
