Raiola getting hurt truly changed everything. With the way of the world in college football now there’s no such thing as QB depth unless you’re in a unique situation.

I don’t hate the core of the defense.

We have to decide who we are on offense.
Our defense is terrible. Every position. None do their assignments and all awful tackling

Dyldo gets his ass whipped just the same down the stretch

This is who we’ve always been under soft little Matty

Honest question here… was it Raiola getting hurt or that we finally played good football teams that saw our downfall back half of the year?

No right or wrong answer just curious.

I checked out after 3rd quarter USC. The team had already showed flaws and I thought it was pretty clear our ceiling was dramatically reduced without Raiola.

I do think we would’ve completed the upset if DR stayed healthy and the rest of the season lands differently. CFB is such a momentum sport and I’d much rather have a catastrophic injury to a player as soon as possible in the year. Fair point that our schedule was back-loaded though.

Hey @wildcat_husker remember at the start of the season I brought up my concern that we were relying way too heavily on Frost players this year?

You, of course, potatoed me and pushed back because you’re a clueless dipshit, but the concern played out as expected. All the frost guys sucked ass even with all the “coaching” and “development” and “time”.

To have half your starters in year 3 STILL be carry overs from the worst regime in NU history was astonishing to me. To dismiss it out of hand was even moreso.

Now Rhule - “MUCH better than Frost” - has improved upon his conference record by just one single game after 3 years.

LMAO. What a fucking homo moron you must be at parties.

We need a major talent upgrade in the front 7 and in particular in havoc/pressure plays in the backfield. Our pass rush in particular was abysmal this season.

On offense, I continue to thinking that forcing under center manball without the personnel is a losing effort. I did like some of the things we saw from the OL yesterday.

I think that’s where I’m at. We beat up on 7-5 Big12 Cincy, HCU, Akron, Sparty who fired their coach, Maryland who was 4-8, UCLA who fired their coach, and Northwestern. We are lucky we didn’t catch the 2026 schedule this year IMO.
And some of those games where comes backs or very close. Dangerously close to a really really bad record in year 3.

Having said that I still think we have to max NIL to get the roster better and have a good talent basis even if Rhule isn’t going to work out. Would not be a good situation for attracting a coach on the other end that we don’t want to face reality to compete with “peer” programs or will yo-yo nil support if there is a bad year.

You said half the two deep at that time were Frost guys and you overstated it by 70%.
