I’m not sure he can win a NC at Michigan, maybe. But he’ll definitely clean up the mess and purge the Connor Stallions and Sharrone Moore types.

I think Wittingham is a good hire.

He always had Scalley with him which he won’t in this case so will be interesting to see who his coordinator hires will be.

Yes. IIRC there was a report he was interviewing. Then like an hour later the news broke that we hired Riley

Yes and yup. But if you’re a Michigan fan you think you’re asking yourself… Can he win a National Championship here? Not sure Whittingham is that guy. I do think he’s great hire if your expectations are little lower than Michigan’s though.

Agreed. There’s some things to not love about it but he’s a way better corch. About the only apt comparison is him being old and probably close to the end of his career.

It seems like Michigan might stumble by accident into making a good hire. Wittingham, Bhrom, and a couple other names that have popped up this late in the process seem like really good options. Yet with each one we hear about Michigan fans freaking out.

Seriously, who do they want? Who do they expect? Those of you who have taken a peak at UM message boards, who would the fans approve of? Surely they have to have a few other names beyond Urban or Kiffin.

I think the best part is that Michigan got to watch almost the entire list of coaches they might have offered leverage raises and extensions from Penn State and then entered their search thinking they were a beautiful and special unicorn who wouldn't be affected at all
