I know it was a pre-season exhibition game, but that win over BYU seems to feel a lot more legitimate at this point...
I would agree, but the first half last night shows that there is still plenty of room for very bad basketball in this team.

Eh — we played like shit and still won by 20+. That's the sign of a good team. I agree that there is still plenty of room to grow, but watch other teams...everyone has room to grow. But this team has a lot of maturity. That will carry them when they aren't playing up to their potential.

I agree with @Lionsfan93 - I’m not completely sold that NU is a top-15 team this year, but what happened last night isn’t unusual—it happens to plenty of top-25 programs and really shouldn’t be alarming in today’s college basketball. Just last week:
  • MSU (-20) vs Oakland: up by only 3 at halftime, won by 9
  • UCLA (-25) vs Cal Poly: down 2 at halftime, won by 21
  • BYU (-34) vs Abilene Christian: up 7 at halftime, won by 18
  • Duke (-33.5) vs Lipscomb: up 3 at halftime, won by 24
  • NU (-29.5) vs ND: down 2 at halftime, won by 23
Shitty starts happen—even to elite teams. The final result is what matters.
