Nebraska H.S. Football Classifications for Next 2-Year Cycle

Standing Bear has a heck of a head coach and has been able to pull some young talent over. They are going to be one of the better Lincoln programs sooner rather than later.

Adam is a great person and coach.

They'll be a constant the 3rd-5th best team in Lincoln for the next few years.

It's going to be a few years and they need to get bigger and faster for Class A. They had 1 kid run in the 4.9s, the rest were 5.0+.

I agree they have good young talent, but they will need to get better at wrestling and baseball if they want to take dual athletes from East. Also, Pius has built the best youth structure for basketball and football with an endless money supply from the Peeds. They took a lot of kids from the youth football ranks from all areas of Lincoln, especially that SE area.

It's something Coach Schiltz and I talk about a lot and he knows it.

Ahh. Think I'm getting confused with Scribner/Snyder.
I was shocked to see scribner Snyder in 6 man. I went to Bergan and we played them in all sports.

I guess we also played Bennington who’s now class A.

Generally though the numbers are what they are because they only have room for so many. There are only a few private schools that turn people away. Skutt isn't one of them.

This is in Omaha. Small towns the better coaches get the players. Sometimes thats the private school and sometimes the public one.
Are you saying Skutt doesn't turn kids away?

They pulled one of the best this past year in Jake Waegli. He was being heavily recruited by all the Lincoln schools. One of the best freshman wrestlers in the state.

Very few. They have an entrance exam and you have to get a minimum score but they can make exceptions. If you're dumb, poor, and unathletic you cant get in. Entrance exam is not hard.

Schools like Duschesne and Mount Michael you have to be about average to get a high enough score. Or from a rich family of course.

I have heard from people who were at MM that when kids transfered in from Concordia they were significantly behind.

Edited: Removed speculative slanderous language from the post.

"If you're dumb, poor, and unathletic you cant get in."

This I can agree with. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The point is very few are getting turned away. That school is how big it is because of how many kids want to go there. It's not controlling enrollment to stay in class b. They could have 100 more kids and still be B.

I have heard from people who were at MM that when kids transfered in from Concordia they were significantly behind. Basically said that Concordia was a shite school.
MM on the higher end of academics too. Would be a similar story going from Skutt to MM.

This particular person only singled out Concordia.
I don't really know anything about Concordia. Just not really fair to make that comparison. If it was the same story but Concordia to Skutt then that's not good.

Scribner-Snyder has been in a co-op with Logan View for the past several years. Logan View decided to end that moving forward.

Brownell-Talbot/Cornestone Christian and Chase County voluntarily opted down into Class C2, knowing they would be playoff ineligible.

Schuyler received a waiver due to very low participation rate and history of success.

Kearney Catholic just ended up being in the unlucky spot of having to move into C1 to fill out the remainder of that class.
I'm from Chase County, pretty disappointed in that decision. I graduated in 2004 and played for the c-1 championship my senior year, 2003. They went to the finals twice in the middle 90s amd then again in 2005. Sad to see how far it's fallen.

Out in Kimball. We literally got fisted with the three classes of eight man. Aside from Gordon, Elm Creek will probably be our closest district game.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Lexington with Tyson closing shop. I'd be willing to bet dozens if kids don't come back after Christmas break.
