If Nebraska goes QB hunting in the portal..

I'll be honest, I have had the feeling all along that he will be coming back.

I absolutely could be wrong. But it feels like people are trying to make him out to be this prima donna, and I don't think he is. I think he genuinely likes it here and genuinely likes Rhule.

On top of that, he is a QB that, for many, has under performed expectations. He also is coming off of a season ending injury. Are teams really going to pay him the kind of money that we are?
I think your last paragraph is why he would come back. He hasn't performed as well as his ranking, coming off an injury, etc.

With that said, I was told when he signed at Nebraska 2.5 years is the over/under on how long he's here. If he didn't get to 8, 9, 10 wins by year 2, the family would take a serious look at getting him elsewhere with a better supporting cast around him. "If they don't get to the 8 win mark, that will effect his draft stock, and the family will have to take a look at if he is better off to get to the NFL elsewhere." Couple that with his Uncle being fired, his brother not signing anywhere yet if they are a package deal, and a WR he is connected with having rumblings of leaving... I actually think he's gone.

Either way, we will be fine.

If that is indeed their "NFL" plan then what about this....

He is saying he needs to be surrounded by better players to get to the NFL.

But teams drafting QBs in the 1st or 2nd are teams that typically sucked. Will those teams want a guy that needs everyone around him to be good to win, something they obviously don't have, or do they want a guy who is able to raise his team up on his shoulders?

"Surround me with 5 stars so I look good."

Buddy you were the 5 star that was supposed to make us look good.

Side note: Nebraska was on their way to 8-9 wins up until he got hurt.

If Nebraska is going to drop a bag on QB it should be Byrum Brown at USF

I don't think that's even in their thought process since he will be surrounded by NFL players. They draft guys that transfer all the time. Will Howard, Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels. It's a pretty long list.

eh

he can be a little jeff sims-ish
He needs to improve his ball security but...

He's top-7 in passing efficiency and #1 in pts responsible for per game. Top-30 in completion percentage and yds/carry. Top-10 in yds/attempt

Comparing him to Jeff Sims at all is retarded.

I'll throw this out first as a disclaimer; I have always preferred dual threat QBs.

I like Dylan as a pass-pro pocket style QB. He is a throwback however in the modern football world. Teams aren't looking for someone who is going to put up 500 yds or more running ............... but they want someone who can get out on the edge and force defenses to have to choose between bad, and really bad choices. They want someone who has some wheels. A QB doesn't have to be a 4.4 guy, but you know if you are a 4.4 guy ....... and you can pass like Dylan can, ......... then Katie bar the door, cause money is coming your way.

I am also a bit disturbed that Dylan wants to wait a bit too long in the pocket when things are boiling around him with DL. His internal clock apparently needs to be louder. If you are playing a Michigan, Cockeye or even Minnesota; if your clock says its 3 seconds the ball better be flying somewhere, even the sidelines (near, but impossible to intercept, a friendly target).

Trae Taylor has all the ingredients I am looking for .....

Need the domino to drop so we can get in line if needed. He'd be incredible to get. Cam Ward to Wazzu type stuff.
59.7% completion percentage

I rather think right now that TJ Lateef is going to make Dylan have to earn the starting position next year, and WE need that to be the case. Dylan also needs to be actually challenged so HE can see what he needs to improve.

Jordan Maiva USC qb the ideal running ability.
