That article was less than flattering about his performance as DC:

"This past season, with Robinson calling plays for Syracuse’s defense, the Orange allowed 34.92 points per game — which ranked dead last in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

SU struggled to rush the passer, ranking in Pro Football Focus’ bottom-30 teams in pass rushing grade, and notably conceded 70 points against then-No. 9 Notre Dame in a historical loss."

We interviewed Kehres, he turned us down, chose Syracuse. Now we’ll hopefully hire the guy that Syracuse just fired to open up Kehres’ spot. As co Dc, for 7 figures. Get on board.

Agree. But mostly about getting people in the correct roles.

I was just thinking the same thing

This means absolutely nothing for what his role would be at NE. He would be the DL coach and ace recruiter. Any Co-DC etc is in title only to "justify" the big salary. Aurich is the DC

Literally doesn’t matter at all given what his role would be here

How does one choose fucking Syracuse over Nebraska? Make this make sense!
He didn't pick Syracuse over Nebraska. My understanding is that the confidence of Kehres to Nebraska was coming from Toledo's side of things. I'm guessing that they believed that since we brought him in for an interview that he would obviously get the offer too.

The only people who have said that he chose Syracuse over Nebraska are Syracuse reporters. Of course they are going to spin it that way.

In reality, Nebraska brought both Kehres and Aurich in last week. Aurich fit what Rhule was wanting more (go back and listen to his presser - he describes Aurich's attitude). The DB coach thing was all fan speculation and never came from and official report.
