So… Where do we go from here?

I mean the levels of consternation after Michigan and USC were nowhere near what they were after Minnesota, Penn State or Cockeye.

Losing close games to Michigan and USC leave you with some hope and reason to believe there has been progress…

Getting blown out by a worthless shit stain Minnesota team, 4-6 coachless Pedo St and a typical one dimensional middling Cockeye tard squad makes you believe that it’s over. This is who we are and the current people in charge are just as lost as we are.

im done GIF

1. Fire Donny to the moon.
2. Fire JoBu to the moon.
3. Replace Bradden
4. Rhule needs to replace these clowns with high level assistants that will challenge him and will bring energy to the team. Example: see Mike Ekeler
5. Don’t overpay to retain the marginal players on our roster
6. Use our supposed increased NIL budget for dudes who are actual game changers. For the love of fucking goodness, stop overpaying for dudes like Dane Key & Dasan Mcollough who are marginally better than a replacement level player.
7. Get back to being a fucking physical team like we were in year 1 & 2 of Rhule.
8. Stop being a punch of pussies.
God damnit. I hate that I agree with 95% of
This

Don't ever mismanage the roster to have the youngest team in the conference. Pretty simple guys. Stop overreacting.
I hope that’s all it is.
The big question is did Rhule think this DL/LB corps could hold up vs B1G opponents? Or did he know it was FUBAR but was told no on the $$$ front by our money guys?

I'm cutting Rhule a little slack that he was smart enough to know this DL/LB corps was gonna get trucked this yr vs B1G teams. It sounds like Rhule felt the $$ ran out which is why he's been campaigning for more for a better roster.

My takeaway from this yr is we're putting WAY too much $$$ into Key/Hunter/Barney. It's just way too much. Was he pressured by the Raiola camp to do that? We also have Cortez Mills, Quinn Clark, Keelan Smith. It's an elite WR group but too elite. We couldn't even get them the ball near enough. That $$ needed to go to DL/LBs

The real problem is we are paying them like an elite WR group and they’re just fine.

Maybe.

I actually think that WR group from 1-8 is really really really strong. The problem is, we had a QB in Dylan who did not push the ball down the field. He took way too many sacks that killed drives. He checked down too much.

I actually think that WR corps was legit but I put a lot of blame on Dylan for not being able to push the ball down field. The lack of 30 yd completions was astounding. And it wasn't all the OL's fault.

The WR group didn't look legit dropping balls that hit both hands several times against Cockeye

Wherever we go can we do it without Haarberg?

How long do we have to pretend that he adds anything?

His "package" of plays worked about 2 times out of 20. Against Cockeye we should have rewarded Emmett with another TD.

He added almost nothing as a TE. He had one good catch all year.

I think the message going forward to Rhule should be cut the fucking "project" players to an absolute minimum.

Agreed! This one play basically sums up the season!

This will be an interesting case study on Pat Stewart. I believe this will be the first season that his hiring actually matters due to the timing of everything when he came on.

I hope he’s spent his whole time building an actionable plan that kicked off at 3pm yesterday.

Im really at the point of wgaf. This program has been nothing but disappointment. TO was the last time we had a serious program & it’s been nothing but buddy hires & nonsense since 97. Bo won 9 games & you always knew we weren’t legit as we watch nepo Olineman get their shit kicked in vs Wisky or MSU. Solich was behind the times. Callahan was not a college coach. Riley was an idiotic hire. Frost was a trainwreck.

Harvey Perlman drove the program into the ground & im at the point where we let Rhule do his thing & move on to the bball sports when it’s a bad year.

Where does all of this lead? Great, we beat Cockeye, got 9 wins & have no shot of beating tOSU or Michigan or the 4 CFP teams from the SEC, that is our ceiling. They have 3 times the money & it’s like being the Padres competing with the dodgers.

We’re in the same tier as Rutgers financially so we don’t have a great shot at the new super league that is around the corner. College football lost its soul & is dying so maybe we got a head start on taking that red pill & moving on. We are a unserious program that can’t beat Cockeye or Minnesota or Illinois or Wisconsin

Honestly why don’t they have a salary cap or at least just make players sign a contract like the NFL does.

That would be a great step. Unfortunately the SEC and a few other programs would find ways around the system to have advantages. It would even it out and cut out tampering.

My guess as to why it isn’t happening is that it allows the SEC etc to tamper and over pay so they have a huge advantage that they do not want to give up.

LOL at it being an SEC problem… watch the game and tell me those are within the cap🤣.

Disagree on Mcollough and Key I get because he was pretty freaking effective before Nebraska. Really surprising how ineffective he was here

What ultimately gets me is that these guys were happy to actively encourage the program to continue down a death spiral, so long as Frost was in charge of the dying.
I don’t disagree with the characterization of the media during the Frost period, but I think y’all got it a bit backwards. Even during the later years of the Frost regime, most fans were willing to still give him more rope. I think the media generally just tries to write things most fans want to hear.

Honestly if you follow Facebook groups (I try not to) it was still a really really large contingent of fans that wanted to keep him at the end.

Mind bottling. People vastly underestimate how long it would take for the non-obsessive fans to want to fire a guy.
