Say he gets dropped to $500k, in the ballpark of what Barthel and Dvoracek make. He’s probably going to be hard pressed to find a job outside of the Power 4 that will pay him more to be its OC. (According to Grok, the highest paid OC in the G5 in 2024 was our old friend Danny Langsdorf at Temple at $504k.)

And I don’t see any P4 schools hiring him as OC, but I could be wrong, I guess.

I don’t see Satt moving on unless Rhule wants him to, and I don’t see that happening.

To your first paragraph, I repeat my I initial question. Where is he going to go that will pay him more than $500-650k? Dropping from 1.4 to 600k is one thing. I think he’d have to go below that if he wants to move back closer to family. Getting paid more than 600k would require a P4 OC job, which I don’t think anyone will give him.

Secondly, what makes you think Satt isn’t doing a bang up job as TE coach? Why do we need an upgrade there? Luke L seems to be having a great season. Former QB HH is contributing there. I don’t subscribe to the “he was a terrible OC therefore we need to fire him as TE coach” theory.

Can we keep Satt, who as stated above actually seems to be doing damn good at TE, especially if he gets Hudson and/or Terwilliger, and still bring in Ferentz to coach tackles?

Raiola actually seems to be doing well with the IOL. I say let it ride and if Raiola still seems shitty after, Ferentz takes over.

Re: Satt…I know there has been discussion about his family living back in South Carolina. If this is still the case, it could very well be a case of him wanting to move on of his own accord once his OC contract expires.

He needs a new OL coach + stacked OL & DL in the portal. I’m willing to give Bradden next year to see what he can do in the portal this year and with recruiting the 2027 class.

I would not be shocked to see:

- New OL coach.
- New RB coach.
- New TE coach (if Satt doesn’t want to stay with a smaller salary).

Butler is a good DC at least with the secondary, so that won’t ever been an issue IMO. We need to get better on the DL and it’ll make everything look so much better.

I’ll be surprised if any of those coaches are gone next year.
