Why did we let/push Tony White out?

Games like this are what I think of when I think of Tony White as DC. He was good compared to anything we did under Frost, but people are only remembering the good and blocking out the bad.
With the exception of a couple of really good offensive teams (like Indiana 2024) for the most part in his two seasons here the teams we played against had really bad offenses (like Cockeye and Minnesota) so his stats were a little bloated. I still believe he’s a fairly good D coordinator but much like our Indiana game last year it’s showing he still needs more experience to be REALLY good.

I agree with this. I think he’s fine but not great.

And I also don’t think his defense would have done any better against Michigan, so that whole line of bitching was misplaced.

Virginia has 416 yards and 35 points at end of 4Q.

In two years at Nebraska tony white allowed more than 416 yards 4 times (16.7% of games) and more than 35 points 3 times (12.5% of games)

2023: @colorado (454, 36) and vs. Michigan (436,45)
2024: @indiana (495, 56) and @USC (441)
