And they scored on the following drive after the missed 4th down. This isn’t make it take it at the playground. They got the 7 points they were getting either way so that drop had nothing to do with the final score.

You strike me as someone who woulda optimistically said that the team was a play away from a win back in Frost’s 3-9 season.

I’ve been told on here for years that the Win is all that matters - not moral victories or how we looked - we got a win.

I figured we’d win 8 or 9, so I’m not sure that’s the ‘Leap’ folks are expecting, but yes. I still feel that’s the case.

Game one. New coordinators, lots of youth and we’re not really sure how good Cincinnati will be.

I think we get better as the year goes on and we likely look a lot closer to what folks thought we look like last night, but we’re realistically another year of development and key portal adds away from making a real ‘leap’ in product on the field.

National media is more praising of us after that game. I think that’s the mindset to have. This team won a gritty game against a decent team.

Didn’t shoot ourselves in the foot and controlled the game for 75% of it.

Take the next 2 weeks to fine tune things amd get ready for Michigan. Should be a top 25 matchup on CBS’ game of the week. This game will be much more telling of how good we are instead of a week 1 game.

Remember Oregon barely beat Idaho last year and Notre Dame lost to NIU early on.

The sky isn’t falling and Rhules track record gives us no reason to believe this team will be anything less than above average
