That justification for slow play never made any sense to me. So you paid the same amount of money as everyone else. Why does that allow you to make their experience awful?
It’s almost as bad as the “I’m slow because I’m not that good” take. Pace of play has nothing to do with skill. Keeping a reasonable pace of play regardless of skill or the feeling that you deserve it because you paid are terrible.

Best advice I ever heard on pace of play was from an old guy who played in under 2:30 every morning.

"Miss it quickly"

Went to Pinehurst a couple weeks back. No. 2 was a 5 hour round. No. 10 was 5.5 hours. We had to leave after 16 to catch our flight. So pissed.
No. 2 is rough and there’s rarely anyway around it. No. 10 taking so long is interesting. 9-16 is a bear, which slows things down, but 5.5 hours is inexcusable.

I feel like 3.5 hours is reasonable for anyone, anywhere. And I’ve been to some clubs in England and Scotland (Prestwick and Rye) where members get a letter if it takes longer than 3 hours for a round.

Yep I understand No 2. No. 10 is a walking course and there were plenty of people that had no business walking it. 95+ degree heat that day too. Marshalls need to enforce some sort of pace of play. All the caddies had GPS transponders in their vests.

I've done the Scotland trip and 100% agree with how they handle it over there. Caddies will whip you around any course in under 4 hours.

I miss the days I could play 9 at Kirkman’s in 45-55 minutes. Pretty sure they do $25 all day M-Thur still, but haven’t been back in a couple of years. It’s the best 9-hole in the state and no one can convince me otherwise, just sucks it’s 90 minutes from Omaha. Would highly suggest going during harvest, because there’s no one out there.

I’ve played it several times. Enjoyable course.

Agree to disagree on best 9-holer in the state, but I liked Kirkmans. 3-6 was a good stretch. I think it was 5 (the long par 3) that was the standout for me.

I think Friend could easily battle it even if we looked at just SENE
