they aren't the same company, though. Look at it as each one being a different franchisee of the same network, but they are competing with each other for the same territory.I noticed someone posted a link to a Verghese article this morning and Dean deleted it. Not sure the dynamics of this relationship since they're technically the same company now but it SEEMS Dean doesn't want Verghese's stuff being posted on HOL.
in no way, shape or form am I suggesting that we respond to this by posting Verghese's stuff on HOL non-stop, and generally treat him like an HOL staff member no different than Mongo, Robin or Abby.
Except anyone with access to RSS already has read access to Inside Nebraska as well, and access to both rivals and on3 content was one of the selling points for customers with the post-merger product.they aren't the same company, though. Doesn't matter, the play is to act like they've joined forces. "Wow, thanks Dean for bringing Tim on board!"they aren't the same company, though. Look at it as each one being a different franchisee of the same network, but they are competing with each other for the same territory.
That's actually hilarious. Tim is 10x the recruiting reporter that mongo is so I can understand why he deleted itI noticed someone posted a link to a Verghese article this morning and Dean deleted it. Not sure I agree. I think the strategy was basically to end up with one franchise per market after 1-2 years. It just couldn't be done due to contracts. Still, in many cities, the dual outlets merged prior to July 1. In Texas, I believe, the former Rivals outlet left and went independent.Except anyone with access to RSS already has read access to Inside Nebraska as well, and access to both rivals and on3 content was one of the selling points for customers with the post-merger product.
Essentially Dean is undermining the corporate strategy at on3 due to his pride.
On 3 picked up outlets in a lot of markets. They probably doubled or tripled the markets they were in. Yahoo had no money to invest in Rivals. So, I think it actually made sense.I wonder if Yahoo was just offloading debt and instead of a “sale” it was “can you take this debt off our hands if we give you this entity?”
Rivals and On3 have no synergy. It’s total overlap. And they didn’t just double charge their client base. It’s a market contraction “sale” and nothing else.
Dean's way too fragile to have anyone like Tim on his board. That's actually hilarious. Tim is 10x the recruiting reporter that mongo is so I can understand why he deleted it
I was part of a corporate merger between 2 giant companies with three corporate headquarters, one in the UK and 2 in the US, that had been competitors. All of a sudden we were supposed to love each other hence the corporate slogan of "One company 3 campuses". Among the employees it was "One company three circuses".Doesn't matter, the play is to act like they've joined forces. "Wow, thanks Dean for bringing Tim on board!"
this acquisition and the subsequent strategy around marketing it has been the dumbest thing I've ever seen
