Three-time NCAA Qualifier Chance Lamer will join the Nebraska wrestling program as a transfer with one year of eligibility remaining, Nebraska Head Coach Mark Manning announced this week.

Originally from Corvallis, Ore., Lamer holds a career record of 62-25, as he spent the last two seasons at Cal Poly and his first two years at Michigan. Not only has he qualified for the NCAA tournament three-straight seasons, but he has placed second and third at the Pac-12 Championship tournament.

Lamer’s career record is 6-6 at the NCAA tournament, highlighted by a Round of 12 appearance in 2022-23 as he earned three upset victories. Additionally, in both tournament and dual matches the last three years, Lamer has earned seven pins, 15 tech. falls and 10 major decisions.

Lamer is a four-time Oregon high school state champion, winning at 145 (2021), 126 (2020), 113 (2019) and 106 (2018). He posted a 146-6 record in high school helping his team to three-straight team titles. Lamer finished fifth at the 2018 Cadet freestyle world championships in Zagreb, Croatia, and is a two-time Fargo cadet finalist.

I feel like Manning has a great culture and AJ had seemed to mature quite a bit with this interactions with media and fans at NCAA’s.

Basically guarantees us another AA and big time team points.
