There will be more about the new punter, but I do not believe he is from Haileybury College. I believe he attended Carey Baptist Grammar School. Carey Baptist Grammar School and Haileybury College are two prominent, expensive independent schools in Melbourne, Australia. Both are highly regarded boarding schools. They are both members of the APS (Associated Public Schools of Victoria) and they both play in the same school league, but they are not related directly.
In Australia the terms "public school" and "college" have a meaning more like they do in England than in the US. Think Eton College in England - a prestigious secondary school with good academics that boards its student and is expensive. It's more like a New England Prep School than a US High School (my characterization).
Archie's season stats show he played for the Old Carey Grammarians against Haileybury. His profile also shows he played for the Kew Rovers when he was younger; Kew is one of Carey's campuses.
Here's a brochure aboutr the ASP - pretty fancy "public schools"
Perhaps a couple of you will be interested in this, the rest will read it and say, "Why did he write this?"
