I see what you are saying. I might be 100% wrong but it looks like they have already moved on to the way things are going to be than the way things are currently this cycle with teams blowing money left and right and having to be responsible for that for the next four or five years.
Yeah, teams were blowing NIL money because there was an advantage to giving old-school NIL as long as it was paid out completely before July 1. The P4 is working now as if they are in a cap world paying people themselves. I know there is doubt about how House actually turns out, but it's is going to happen. In any event the P4 has basically insinuated that they will follow the proposed revenue sharing and NIL controls even if the House settlement crater. Schools are behaving that way, e.g., Oklahoma cutting the size of the athletic department staff and the AD's salary in order to be able to afford the cap.

Someone could challenge this in court but I think the P4 believes that the government will save them if they lose in court with some kind of anti-trust exemption.

What we're hearing with Valdin Sone and Nebraska

Where does Nebraska stand relative to others in Valdin Sone's top group?

Talked with some folks in the 247Sports network this month about talented four-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone, who is originally from Sweden but is now in Virginia at a boarding school and has reclassified to be in the 2026 class.

Sone, who rose to prominence this past offseason with his big performance at the All-American Game in San Antonio as just a sophomore, already stands 6-foot-3, 316 pounds and recently put out a top group that included Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, USC.

Network sources indicate there's a top group inside the top group and the Huskers are among the teams included. Joining Nebraska for the chase for Sone is Florida and Oklahoma, with Georgia and Texas among the teams in the mix while Auburn, South Carolina and USC are on the outside looking in for now.

Sone is expected to make a decision after taking official visits. He's scheduled to see Florida and Oklahoma in June and the expectation is Nebraska should be able to get an official as well.

Another 247Sports source believes Nebraska is as well positioned as anyone for Sone because of the strong relationship forged already between the staff and Sone, as well as his handler, Brandon Collier. The Huskers have a strong relationship with Collier and have recruited quite a few of his international players over the years.

Nebraska assistant coach Terry Bradden actually flew to Sweden to visit with Sone's family for an in-home visit earlier this month.

The Huskers could use a splash with defensive line recruiting after learning Titan Davis was changing his official visit from Lincoln to Los Angles to check in on USC. Davis had long been on of the top players on Nebraska's board, but the Huskers have to pivot from the lineman.

Last cycle the Huskers had three commitments on the defensive line and all of Kade Pietrzak, Malcolm Simpson and Tyson Terry are set to arrive to campus soon. There are no commitments along the defensive line in the 2026 class as of now.

Looks like young Trevor is heading to Eastern Michigan to do some coaching after graduating from UNK.

CJ in Gainesville this weekend.

Florida has only two commits
