Lincoln has always been quick and easy if flying through O'Hare or Denver on United. But until it gets another airline like SW or Delta, it will remain a small, quaint, regional airport.

I’m really patiently waiting for American Airlines to step in and offer a daily route or 2 to Dallas.. its one of the top 5 most “popular” destinations from LNK and there was $750k in grant funding awarded to support the route with AA a few years back and AA for some reason has zero interest in adding it to the portfolio

Interestingly, UNL did charter their athletic planes through AA last year. Wonder if that helps at all in this situation with adding commercial service

I’d love maybe 2 flights a day on AA to DFW, 1 to PHX and 1 to CLT. Would be a really nice compliment to the DEN/ORD service United offers and would differentiate the AA routes into the Southeast and Southwest.

Wonder if United would have any interest in adding a route from its EWR or IAD hub. Seems like an opportunity with OMA losing the LGA flight to get folks from Omaha/Lincoln to the East Coast.

Really? It’s one of my favorites to fly in/out of, especially post-renovation. Small, efficient, clean and easy. Is it just a lack of destinations thing, are you a loyal Delta/AA guy, or something else?
Are ticket prices insanely higher.
Looked at flights to Denver on the same day from Lincoln and Omaha. Omaha was still $200 cheaper

I used to love flying United from Anchorage to Lincoln. It made it convenient for my parents to pick me up. I just fly Alaska now.

Do you have a Chase card? I use Chase Points to transfer to United to use as United Miles and that’s how I go in/out of LNK usually

American used to have a few flights I could connect to Lincoln on out of Charlotte, now they’re gonzo.

I’m not a fan of OMA at all, but unless I switch carriers, that’s my only option.

You should also check Grand Island (GRI) from CLT on AA if trying to get to Lincoln. You would connect through Dallas but at times that route has been cheaper for me than that Omaha flight which they tend to jack the price up on since its direct

It's not like there is a huge difference to Lincoln between the two, but a connection in Dallas can involve epic suckage.

Good article on the future of LNK and the organized efforts to attract another carrier:

Lincoln Airport Authority sets strategic goals for new air service, growing industrial park

- Attempting to attract a new “leisure” carrier by 2026 and a “mainline” carrier by 2027

- Wanting to grow seating capacity by 5% YoY as an annual goal
