Lincoln (LNK) Airport Updates

Flying into LAX is horrible and so is flying out of LAX. The three airports in the SOCAL you want are Ontario, Burbank, John Wayne. Of those three Ontario is by far the best to get to everywhere in the SOCAL. John Wayne for the Orange County sites, though Disney crap is best out of Ontario.

John Wayne is a PIA to fly into due to the noise restrictions. If you can't land by 11, you're screwed. Not to mention them cutting the engines back after takeoff to coast out over the rich people's houses. First time I took off out of there, I thought our engines died...

Still waiting for the DFW flight. PITA having to fly into OMA to go back to Lincoln.

Used to live in Jackson, MS.. Would fly on Delta from DFW to Jackson about once a week. The flight was on a Saab Turboprop that only sat about 20 people (Jackson is quite a bit smaller than Lincoln, as is Birmingham), American flew the Israeli/French made ATRs also turboprops. That Delta flight to Jackson was the only time (including when I was on in-flight status in the military) that I went through a lightning strike on an aircraft.

Have never had an issue at Ontario, and I used to fly in and out of there every week for several years. Occasionally, winds out of the Cajun Pass can make it dicey but not often. Everything East of Ontario is warehouses for miles and miles, basically all of Mira Loma. Only expensive homes in that area are in Upland along the old historic neighborhoods.

My FIL kept his private plane at John Wayne, for lots of air-traffic reasons that is a dangerous place to fly out of. However so is LAX.
