Disgustingly bad. Erstad owned them from 2012-2017 till his last 2 seasons where he went 1-5. And it's carried over with Bolt.

Dannen can't be taking this shit much longer. $2M buyout is next to nothing to absorb.

$2M with 25 home games and an average attendance of 4,424 average attendance = peanuts to make it up. We'll find out soon enough how he actually values baseball. No Regionals in 2025 = new staff. It should be this simple.

USM is looking to fill a minimum of 22 scholarships and they have an approximate NIL of $1.5M/year. He'd take 1 step in to our facilities and ask, "What the fuck is this!?" IIRC, his base salary is around $280,000 so ya we can afford him - the question is, does he want to take a lateral move with how things are, currently in Lincoln?

(FTR, I'm a yes for him)

Nebraska is looking to *maybe* fill 18 scholarships, still without guidance from the B1G, and an NIL budget of $0.

Heef turned down an interview with aTm last summer, but he's gonna accept one with Nebraska? He's my #1 by far, but I can't imagine any scenario where he'd make the move (and I'd love to be wrong). Osborne interviewed him back in 2011 and he wanted the job. DVH gave 2 recommendations, Heefner & Bolt. Osborne interviewed both, plus Erstad. Oh what a story that is...

I don't know if Rardin would take it. He has some serious animosity towards us. WKU has a facility upgrade going on right now so again, Nebraska would have to actually commit to something. It's not just all about salary, especially for Marc. And he's a different cat, not sure how he'd get along with anyone (his way or the highway, literally). I'd bite my tongue if he's running the show though, dude is a winner & he'd be a HR hire.

Bottom line - Nebraska will have to make an actual commitment to baseball to nab a quality name.

I wasn’t saying that either would come here. It may have been you I remember reading saying that Heef was interviewed for this job and we passed on him. He was my top choice back then.

It was, and Dean banned me for "outscooping Matya." Mike was cool about it, I had sent him an email earlier in the morning that TO was in Colorado to interview Heef & Bolt on the same day.

We're about $500K more in budget compared to them. Pretty sad considering their travel expenses are way less & have a recruiting base 100x the size we do.
