Back to school for the kiddos. My daughter still has a couple years to go, but one of my best friend's daughter just started Kindergarten and has her first full day today.

How'd yesterday go for everyone? Any first times? My buddy said full range of emotions for him! Hope life takes me a while for me to get to that point.

We homeschool in no small part because we decided we didn't want to start school this early... either this early in the year, or that early in life with trying to do full day classroom structure type format.

There's a one day a week co-op style thing we'll start in a couple weeks, but this is prime time for us to do things like go to the zoo or other less formal educational outings, now that most other kids are back in their buildings.

Big agree that the early years have a lot to savor. We're right in the middle of what I'm sure we'll reminisce about as the good ol' days at our house.

Wife was getting ready for the 1st full day of her 8th year as a teacher this morning, kiddo was still laying in bed watching cartoons, and I just stopped for a few seconds this morning before leaving for work to soak it all in knowing the chaos will only increase in a couple short years.

Everyone I know with kids is ecstatic they are going back to school. If people couldn’t post all those stupid pictures of the kids holding up grade signs, we wouldn’t even hear about it.

Yeah, I'm at work all day anyway so it doesn't affect me much. I don't post shit on facebook anyway

It was the last first day of school when my youngest was a senior that got to me the most to be honest….

You would be suicidal. You would fight more with the idiot parents than you would the idiot kids with broccoli haircuts
My SIL is a 3rd year teacher, and I allow her to vent to me at times. her first two years damn near caused her to have a drinking problem. More behavior correcting for a few kids then actual teaching for the whole class. One kid would have fits so bad the class would have to evacuate the room until he was done.
Teachers cant do shit anymore, they suggested he transfer to an alternative school and the parents flipped a lid saying they just didnt like the kid and wanted to hurt his development.
