Can you provide more context for those of us who don't know Texas?
South Dallas is full of great football players and great football teams.
There are 10 football classes in 11 Man Texas High School Football
- South Oak Cliff was the Texas 5A Division 2 State Champion (4th biggest division in TX football). Their only 3 losses last year: Desoto, Duncanville, Lancaster
- Desoto was the Texas 6A Division 2 State Champion (2nd biggest division in football). Their only loses last year: Duncanville and a prep school from Maryland.
- Duncanville was the Texas 6A Division 1 State Champion (biggest division in football) and widely considered one of the top 3 programs in the nation. They didn't lost last year.
- And on top of that Bishop Dunne (Darrion and Damian Daniels) is about 2 miles from South Oak Cliff and is a really really good private school football program.
- Lancaster beat South Oak Cliff last year and only lost to Longview, TX by a touchdown. Longview is a 6A power in East Texas.
All of these are located in South Dallas. If you started at 1 of these high schools and drove in a circle to see the other 4 it would only take you about an hour...about 28 miles total of driving.
You add Cedar Hill (Garrett McGuire's high school and where his dad made his career) to this tour then you'd have an extra 10 minutes of driving.
Look up some Duncanville Highlights from the 2022 state championship game. It looks like a small division 1 college out there playing. Full of 3 Star up to 5 Star kids. I'm guessing DeSoto has something like 12-15 Division 1 caliber football players in their junior and senior classes...Duncanville beat them by 24 points.
