After we brought in our new QB there were some rumors that quickly started flying about Frost getting ready to process up to 10 guys to make room to bring in even more transfers as a "win now" move. (CornPorn)

So who are the candidates to be sent to the portal? Here are my guesses.

Frost will help you pack up your shit:

1: P Daniel Cerni - dude you have sucked. G'day, mate.

2: DL Tate Wildeman - dude you've taken up a roster spot long enough.

Might want to look for playing time elsewhere:

3: LB Eteva Mauga-Clements - dude you looked lively but have been usurped by younger guys. Go ball out at Missouri State or Utah State.

4: WR Wyatt Liewer - dude you had more drops than catches but Frost loved your small townishness, so go play hard in practice and drop balls in the game at UNK.

5: OL Trent Hixson - dude you can room with Wyatt at UNK.

Portal in, portal out:

6: DB Tyreke Johnson - dude the last time we saw something from you was when you transfered in.

7: RB Markese Stepp - Brody Belt did more than you did last year. BRODY FUCKING BELT.

8: DL Jordon Riley - dude you looked the part but rumors of a bad attitude might be the end of you.

Unfortunately the Doctor might decide these:

9: OLB/S Javin Wright - dude the blood clots are a huge risk. It's a shame because you look like a baller.

10: LB Will Honas - dude hang it up before you make it so you can't walk.

I disagree with Johnson. He got here late last year. Let's see what he can do in his second year here. And unless we can land a stud DT, we can't let Riley walk...we need DT bodies. That being said, what are our positions of need? I'd say:
QB - 1 of its Chubba
RB - 1
WR - 1 (Trey Farmer preferably)
TE - 0
OL - 1 to 2... scariest position group on the team. I'm not sure I'm confident in a good group of 5 guys we could walk out there...
DL - 1 to 2
OLB - 1 if it's the right one
ILB - 0
DB - 1

On offense, the names are pretty well known - Purdy, Thomas and Farmer. But I don't have a good feel for additional OL or the defensive side.

I'd get rid of Haarberg before Smothers. Haarberg wasn't very impressive his Sr year against some garbage ass, doo-doo competition. Plus it sounds like he has big-time accuracy issues.

I vote do no processing at the QB spot till after spring. Let em all battle out and cut the weakest link. I'm not sold on Smothers yet, but not entirely down on him either. I wanna see how these guys do with a good QB coach first.

I'd argue the same at RB and OL too. Hopefully we have some real coaches now to build these guys.

Glad to see this cause I really think he could flourish in Whipple’s system. Lots of underneath drags and now has a Qb who is much more accurate on those short to intermediate throws

Had a family member on his team, he has a huge arm and is very mobile, played a poor level of competition but from the games I’ve walked and from the people I talked to who have seen practice they say it’s pretty bad how inaccurate he is, that said if he can get that fixed the sky is the limit cuz he has all the measurables
