Keeping it 100, none of the teams left on the schedule are better than us. No one has a rushing attack that our defense can't wipe out completely. The only teams left with a passing game that remotely trouble me are Maryland and Wisconsin. Maryland went 5-0 against 2 nobodies and 3 terrible P5 teams, then stunk against OSU. Wisconsin can be beat. We got trucked by an elite Michigan team which skews our stats, but I really think we have a top 5 defense in the country. If our offense was just AVERAGE we would be 5-1 right now.

No we don't. Top 25 probably. If everyone stayed healthy top 15-20 maybe?

Which is way better than what they should be based on talent. There aren't a lot of draft picks on the defense right now and most of them are young.

Worth repeating that White is a fucking stud.

QUESTION: Are you ok with winning 5 if it meant beating Wisconsin and Cockeye? OR win six and get blown out by Cockeye…

6.

Long term we get the additional practices and we'd have, in essence, two spring camps before fall camp for '24. Short term, it's the end of the ridiculous streak of missing out on a bowl game and should be a tangible sign of progress that most would recognize.

Not sure I’d say Maryland stunk vs OSU - they hung with them for 3 quarters.

But it is pretty typical for Nebraska fans to assume their schedule is full of nobodies who Nebraska should obviously roll, despite being on a five year losing streak….

I agree. We have nowhere near the pass rush to be considered a top five defense. We have a good defense, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

And let's not put up the eight sacks we had against Colorado, because my grandma could generate a pass rush against that offensive line... and my Grammy has been gone for 20 years. RIP.
