Been there a couple of times. 1st saw it on a fly-n-ride motorcycle trip (flew into Billings, rented Harleys) and the 2nd time a few years ago with Mrs. LHR. Highly recommend that you check out the Cody Museum in Cody, WY. Incredible collection of firearms and history of the area:

Would like to take my family there but know nothing about where to stay and how to plan out the days. Looks awesome

Its pretty simple really. We've basically just been driving around and stopping at stuff that catches the eye.

Hopefully you'll get a chance to take in Red Lodge, MT if you're up that way. Unless you're pulling a camper, the Beartooth Pass is a picturesque drive. Then it might be a bit challenging - lots of switchbacks. Mucho gusto in the Jag convertible. 😎
