Thought it would be interesting to put Frost's year 3 roster side by side with this years roster. Guessing a little on the starters this fall since we don't have an official depth chart.

WR and OL look to be much better. Hopefully Raiola has a bigger second season jump than Adrian.

Defense looks better as well but Jojo and CTB were good players in 2020.

QB - upgrade - I think
RB - wash
WR - upgrade
TE - downgrade
OL - wash, that 2020 team has 3 NFL OL
OL is tough because I'm looking at where they were in their career at that point.

The right side of the 2020 OL was pretty poor. Benhardt really didn't do ok until last year which was 4 years later. Farniok also struggled at times and Cam Jurgens was still struggling to snap the ball.

For 2025 I really have no clue about RT but I think Evans, Spindler, and Lutovsky are going to be really solid in the middle. I'm assuming the Alabama has to be better then GG or he will get replaced.

I’m not sure what to think of this

Skill positions on offense are definitely better this year

Much TBD on the OL. We are undoubtedly deeper there this season, but as mentioned, there were some dudes in 2020 in a checkered group.

QB & WR look like the biggest upgrades.

Several spots on D look like there's great potential studs, but need to see them step up and prove it under the lights.

Your last paragraph can apply to the entire program for most of the last two decades. Whenever given an opportunity to shine and take the next step, we don’t.

If Andrew Marshall is an NFL draft pick like I’ve read is the case on here, suddenly my worries about the defense basically go away..

Looking back, I will take this roster/staff/program over 2020 any day of the week. Just in a much better position structurally based on all we know now. We're simply just more prepared in this year 3 cycle.

The entire offense looks better IMO. These comparisons are tough because we already know how all of the 2020 players careers played out. You look at Jurgens and think this dude is an NLF All Pro, obviously he's better then Justin Evans, but thats not the case with 2020 Jurgens. Benhart was maligned until last year. Farniok had some issues, etc.

Same thing on defense. There is a little bit projection for this years starters so we still have alot of unknowns, but that Dline and LB core in 2020 is rough. Id take my chances with 2025. Damon Daniels wasnt really a regular starter until 2021. Deontre Thomas, Honas, Miller, Tannor, were all pretty average to below average players. Stille was a reaplacement level player. Secondary looks pretty good for 2020, but 2025 has a lot of potential as well.

This is how I look at it as well. I think there is more NFL potential on the 2025 roster than there was in 2020 and way less weak spots with no depth behind them.

We'll come back and check on this thread in a couple years.

Did we really have Kade Warner and Chris Hickman staring at WR
That is what I found on the internet for that first week.

Frost's tenure for WR recruiting may be the worst in history. Especially after running Wandale off because he was forced to play RB.
