New Commit Wright N

I don't have any inside info. In my mind he has a lot of starting experience at USC, and his main competition for the starting spot is Hartzog. Which I'm not really that high on Hartzog. After Hill, Wright, and Hartzog it sounds like the next two guys up are redshirt freshman in Charles and Bootle.
Huge hog moved to safety

I mean, USC's defense got shredded last year and he was part of it. And started a bunch of games IIRC.

So we got that going for us, which is nice

He didn't play much last year, he started 11 games in the 2022 season.

Wright will be going into his 4th season and has 41 tackles, 1 Interception and 5 pass deflections.
Hartzog will be going into his 3rd season and has 62 tackles, 3 interceptions and 8 pass deflections.

Thank you.

I think it's a great pickup, but I admit I was worried about his involvement in 23 USC defense, which was awful. Glad he didn't play much! Their secondary specifically got shredded every time I watched them.

But what if he just wasn't good enough to pay on that shitty defense?????? 🙂
I believe it was "off the field" stuff that kept him from playing. Seemed he was pretty conflicted about football vs acting career. I can't imagine that an acting career in Lincoln will be much of a distraction for him lol.

I'll be honest I don't really care about the stats. I just don't think Hartzog is that good. It could also be because I haven't got over the Minnesota game from last year.

Hartzog isn't great, but he is a lightning rod for unwarranted criticism. Seems like there is a player in the secondary like that annually that catches more crap than they deserve. One mistake and a player can be labeled as bad and it sticks with many fans for years. Took a long time for Benhart to shake off that label, some fans still think he sucks.

Bengart is terrible. Kid from Lawrence is far worse
