Whipple Resigned at Pitt

Found this pretty interesting and didn't know previously. From Wiki:

Whipple left college football for a position as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL in 2004 where he was instrumental in the development of Ben Roethlisberger, who in his rookie season became the first NFL quarterback to finish a season undefeated with a 13–0 record in games he started.

Not like we need any help developing qb's or anything...

What I know about this guy I could write on the back of a stamp, but this just seems like a very underwhelming hire to me

Just had a FB coach from Youngstown (not a Pelini) text me that Whipple is coming to Nebraska and that it’s the best hire Nebraska could have possibly made. Haven’t checked my phone besides logging on now - is this legit?

Media is circling on Twitter. Gonna be Whipple and the Bears assistant OL

I had a pretty slow afternoon so I dove pretty deep into the “Whiplash” offense. I think as far as scheme goes, Frost nailed it here if Whipple is indeed the guy.

Though Whipple is much more pass-happy, the core philosophy of Whipples offense aligns extremely well with what Frost tries to do:

When it works: Dink. Dunk. Dagger.

When it doesn’t work: 2 steps forward, one step back (ie the last 4 years).

I’d like to think of Whipple is indeed the guy Frost will advocate for more running that Whipple is used to, but dive into some game film if you get the chance. This is a good fit.

The game Whipple called against Clemson was incredibly impressive.
