Pretty incredible. IF it's true that their AD literally just planned to give the job to Rhule, good for Rhule for not going along with the plan haha.

Although at the time this exact scenario was my worry, that PSU would strike out on so many people that they end up desperate with no better option than even a mediocre-seeming Rhule. I can't imagine they'll go that route after the way our season shaped up, but still. Pretty wild haha.

Bill Callahan is/was a good recruiter and good OL coach. That’s it, nothing else. He wasn’t a good OC or a good play caller and his offenses were just slightly above average. He was completely lost on how to move the ball on the ground. It (the offense) just looked better in comparison to Cosgrove’s defense which was historically bad. A 7 standing next to a 4 looks like a 9. Bill Callahan sucked ass at pretty much every other aspect of being a HC other than recruiting. Period.

Mike Tomlin is a great pro coach, but I think he would be a complete disaster in CFB. Only hope would be to just destroy it in recruiting and the portal to such a degree that you out talent everyone and win right away.

Tomlin has never coached in college. Coaches say top CFB jobs require about 1000 more “office” hours a year over the NFL. Can Tomlin recruit? He’s never had to kiss an 18 year old millionaire’s ass and act like he likes it. Everyone thought Deion would dominate on the recruiting front on his reputation/fame and “out talent” everyone. But he was a lazy recruiter and a lazy coach and that never panned out.

Love Mike Tomlin. Very skeptical about him in CFB. Also think he’s smart enough to stay in the NFL game.

Clandestine recordings is a sign things are going great. He sounds like a superfan calling into the sports talk radio show.

He can either:
-Hire Smith and save the team but lose the fanbase
-Hire Campbell and lose the team and end up with an underwhelming coach

His only way of saving things would be to find a big name coach and that ship has sailed.
