When coaches yell at the referee

Do you ever have any games you see on your schedule and think, oh boy, here we go.

We do. However a lot of the time those games, coaches, and players aren't the bad ones or what we weren't expecting.

Easy examples this year we had a high school playoff game this year, I knew a crew that had one of the teams a few weeks earlier. I called to see what to expect from players and coaches. The scouting I received the coach screamed and bitches the entire game although winning by 4+ scores. A few players they had issues with and to watch. Not once did the HC bitch or yell and overall was great to work with. The problem players were two kids who joked and were great for me on field.

Same for Lincoln High, they get a bad rep, this year they had a brawl on field with a bunch of ejections. Similar to past years. We were told last year Lincoln High vs Lincoln Northeast would be babysitting and fights/trash talking. Not once did anything happen. elevery game I've done of theirs Coach Macke has been awesome on sideline and players extremely respectful.

College games is more about matchups. If a coach or team knows they're going to get boat raced or beat handily, they'll behave.

It's crazy how one game or certain crews have issues with teams and that same team when we have them is complete opposite.

Our old ST coordinator used to ref a lot of JUCO ball in the Jayhawk conference and KCAC in Kansas. He was usually the umpire and right in the thick of shit. He would laugh and basically told the LBs if they kept him clean, he would likely not call much on them...lol.

Same here. I work umpire in high school and some in college. But primarily line of scrimmage or deep wing in college.

At umpire I make pretty good friend with LBs and safety on defense and guards and center on offense. Let them know I'm there and will let them play just don't be stupid.
