  • Tempering Expectations for Football
  • I’m calling for 6-7 wins.
  • I’d be satisfied with 8
  • You can’t expect Rome to be built in a year because we paid for it. If that was the case, everyone would be just paying for it. While Tucker’s contract is at the level of Harbaugh, Day, Franklin, Smart, and Saban’s MSU doesn’t have anything close to the player talent pool. Tucker was brought in to start taking the steps to change that.
  • I expect a bowl game and 6 wins. Anything less really is unacceptable. It was a joke last year that we couldn’t make a chip shot field goal to get bowl eligible against Indiana…I don’t expect us to compete against the elite but you better make a bowl game.
  • temper deez nuts
  • Before Thorne and KC's departures I was at 6-6 being the ceiling, expecting 5-7. Now I'm at 4-8.
  • Tuck is 13-19 as a HC (8-12 at MSU) without KW9. He's lost B1G games by an average of 23.9 points. I just don't see a reason to expect much different this year.
  • I’d be thrilled with 7-5, and have a feeling we wind up 5-7, in large part because I don’t trust this coaching staff and particularly Tucker given his game management and decision to bring everyone back.
  • 6-6. Must make a bowl game. No matter what, it is not acceptable to have a sub .500 record at MSU. Especially two years in a row.
  • We need to see the defense not finish 14th/14th in in Big Ten play for a 3rd straight year.
  • A top half finish for the defense, and this team can make some noise.
  • The most optimistic thing for me is comparing the roster to the 2020 roster. Tuck has certainly raised the talent at every position. That roster was borderline high school level.
  • I think for the ones who know football, 6-6 or 7-5 is most peoples expectation.
  • Teacher has positive test 1st day of school-blows a .24 in class
  • Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to teach 3rd graders. Boxed wine--how embarrassing.
  • Who knew Bob Huggins went to teach grade school
  • Neb. AD Turd Alberts: Expansion is never over,, next one is huge
  • I’ve seen this from more than one admininistrator, trying to get fans prepared for the next big expansion…seems like they have a plan…
  • It’s safe to remove the schools that don’t have a chance. Pitt, Georgia Tech, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
  • Ok, Turd, maybe you should be preparing yourself for the upcoming football season.
  • Easy, BC all the way. We get a hockey program with that one, no one else seems to have one of those.
  • Big Ten needs to send Nebraska back to the Big 12
  • I actually think Nebraska wins 9 games this year
  • Are they only playing Northwestern?
  • Personally, I'd be happy if we went back to the days before the BCS.

Michigan

  • Cockeye starting DT gets 1 year suspension for betting
  • The hypocrisy with this is laughable. I can understand if he bet on Football, but the fact that he was old enough and bet on other sports should not be punishable.
  • If Stanford and Cal end up joining the ACC, would it be a missed opportunity for the B1G?
  • I don't think they are a take. I was not a huge fan of UO and UW, mostly b/c they weren't good enough to take last summer, why would they be takes now?
  • Have you gone to middle or high school with any UM football players?
  • OT - aOSU acquires former Nebraska president Walter "Ted" Carter from transfer portal
  • Frankly, this is brilliant. Kudos.
  • In other news, MSU's president said thanks but no thanks to the full time gig. Nobody wants to deal with their crazy board.
  • They’ve lost multiple Presidents due to the BoT insanity at MSU. Didn’t their previous president call them out specifically when he quit?
  • “An Ohio State University”….Gold
  • Michigan at Nebraska to kickoff at noon on FOX
  • Nice to avoid the night game seeing as last time we went to Lincoln at night it was a clencher.
  • Lincoln was absolutely rocking. Great atmosphere! Blake (edit) Corum recently said it felt like the field was shaking on Bussin with the Boys.
  • Courtesy Michigan sweet corn is hot right now. Another thing we do better than Nebraska.
  • If this schedule holds, every B1G team except Nebraska & Indiana will have a Peacock game.
  • The beauty of living in the central time zone (I'm in MN). College Football kicks off at 11am each week!
  • Shuck you Nebraska. Go Blue.
  • Awesome to see that game at noon, love the Fox coverage.
  • My kid is due on that day so he better either come earlier in the week or be an October baby
  • I'd love to go to Lincoln for the game. Haven't been there since I was a kid.
  • Looking for tickets to this game. Who has a connect?
  • That’s really surprising. This is unquestionably Nebraska’s red letter home game this season nothing else even comes close. No PSU, no OSU.
  • I thought this had night game written all over it.

Ohio State

  • Ted Carter heading to Ohio State
  • Ted Carter as the new President of Ohio State! Nebraska is really sad to lose this guy I’ve heard
  • Just some insight for those who may worry; he is really big on athletics and a huge supporter of its importance.
  • At first glance he seems like a great hire.
  • It's so important to have a president who really cares about and understands both athletics and academics. We had one a couple of presidents ago who wasn't.
  • Now, who will OSU's next AD? Turd Alberts?
  • Hell NOOOO, better not be!!!!

Rutgers

  • Charcoal or gas at your tailgate?
  • propane because of cleanup.
  • Lump Charcoal. The real stuff. Propane is fine for quick grilling but doesn’t compare to charcoal.
  • Anyone using solar panels this year?
  • OT: Seeing a lot of lanternflies in central NJ
  • I've been seeing quite a few of them. I haven't seen any stick bugs, I hate stink bugs.
  • Yes they started popping up last year in Montgomery. Even more this year. I kill as many as possible but I think we're already screwed.
  • This battle is lost. Ultimately they’ll be controlled only when Mother Nature decides. Running around swatting them on your outdoor furniture and scraping off a few egg sacs is not stopping them
  • Rutgers wil require indoor masking in 2023

Minnesota

  • Nebraska’s Depth Chart Released
  • Appears that “or” means things are not 100% cemented at that position. Keep in mind that some college coaches love putting that word everywhere too.
  • Benhart still starting at RT
  • Benhart and Corcoran starting makes me feel better and the gophers chances.
  • When do we release our depth chart? After halftime?
  • The size and depth of the Husker DL...should have our OL licking their chops. Go push them around, boys!
  • Just in case anyone was wondering, the Chubba Purdy listed as the 2nd or 3rd-team QB is the brother of 49'ers QB Brock Purdy.
  • You mean the guy who looked horrible against us last year.
  • Looks like a whole lot of kids going home disappointed.
  • Benhart ... will be his fourth year in a row starting every game (presumably) at tackle for a Big Ten team ... but assume he still won't be good enough to come out for the draft?
  • Which Gophers are going to make him look like a chump again, this year?
  • And Jeff Sims is looking to resurrect his career after a tough stint at Georgia Tech.
  • Do we ever release an "official" depth chart? I don't think teams are required to do it so Fleck doesn't but could be wrong on that.
  • Coach Rhule ain’t ready for Cali McEs!
  • There are no expectations for year 1 of Rhule’s Nebraska, but they would like to have as much as they can to show fans that there is hope around the corner.
  • A win vs Minnesota would be a nice feather, for such a season where a bowl game isn’t guaranteed.
  • Odd thing is that most of PJ’s head-scratching losses, and near losses, have come at home. Hope he gets that fixed this year.
  • It’s really important to Husker fans. They live in the 90’s and think they should go undefeated every year…no matter how bad they were the year before. Delusional bunch.
  • I had ChatGPT write an article, apparently, Morgan is back for another year and Frost is still the HC
  • Honestly, I don't think AI would get the coach's name incorrect but the others correct.
  • This first game is scary to me
  • I can see PJ just brushing a loss to NEB off like it’s nothing saying things like “we still have the entire season ahead of us” sort of statement and then go get our first win by blowing out Eastern Michigan the next week and say some BS like “we have the team that I know we have and we can win when we do what we’re supposed to do”
  • Starting 1-0 against our division foe on Thursday is a must! Don’t give me some BS.
  • A loss to NEB, I guess I just saved more money on “Pledge Per Win”.
  • Kaliakmanis I believe is going to have a great night.
  • Rhule said he considers Fleck “a friend.” Minnesota has beaten Nebraska four straight times. Fleck is 5-1 against the Huskers.
  • His record as first year coach in the college ranks are pretty dismal. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again there in Nebby.
  • He’s doomed. Bo Pelini got fired for winning 9 games a year because they believe they still live in the 90’s. Don’t see Rhule lasting too long once that fan base quickly turns on him.

Northwestern

  • Top unemployed CFB coaches
  • Fitz is missing….
  • Scott Frost is also missing
  • Coach Frost gives his regards; he'll be here once he's had time to sober up clear his head.
  • OT - College Presidents must have their own transfer portal
  • Nebraska President leaves to become Ohio State President.

  • It’s really important to Husker fans. They live in the 90’s and think they should go undefeated every year…no matter how bad they were the year before. Delusional bunch.

Rustles my Jimmies other fanbases still think this. 99% of fans would be thrilled with a winning season/ bowl game. This isn’t 2003.

This also is probably one of the dumbasses that will justify Wisconsin firing a 9 win coach.

Keep in mind these are Minnesota fans - not exactly a hotbed of college sports knowledge.

They probably think Lou Holtz is still coaching Notre Dame, and expect Dick Enberg on the broadcast.

OMG. This take is more delusional than any Husker fans’ regarding this season. What a tired, outdated troll.

This opinion was probably formed 10–15+ years ago and set in cement. Six straight losing seasons changes a fan base though…

I 💯 agree buuuuuut having said that we really should go undefeated this year iwbh GBR

If I was a Rutgers fan, I'd drop my interest in football and take up a more exciting hobby like knitting, stamp collecting, or cleaning outhouses.

It’s funny to me that there are constantly conversations on other teams boards about Nebraska and basically nobody here gives a fuck about Minnesota or what their three fans think.

When Nebraska was winning 9-10 games we were discussed even more

“Get out of the 90s”

The mid-2000s called and they want their clever Husker quib back.

Exactly zero Husker fans still believe it’s the 90s.
maybe he was fired because we were embarrassed on national tv everytime we played someone with a pulse, not saying its gotten better but nobody thinks we are going 62-3 again

I had the best time with their fans last year in Piscataway. They were super respectful and were just fun to be around.
