Chinander has to be fuckin embarrassed. What an embarrassing display to let an average QB dick you around like that.

And worse he had no halftime adjustments either. I actually thought last year that EC might have a long P2 (it's not P5 anymore) career ahead of him... but this dude is headed right back to the AAC or maybe a dying Pac12 if he's lucky.

Chin has about as much creativity and tweaking of his defense as Cockeye does with their offense. He does not evolve and B10 OC's are going to abuse him the longer he's here.

I still don't understand what Chin is even trying to do on D. It seemed to work alright for the most part last season, but even then I remember dudes just being wide open underneath and us rarely doing things to generate pressure

Somehow we scored half as many points on offense (with a supposedly superior QB, what should be a better OL and RBs, and receivers that should be miles better)as we did last year vs NW. Sadly, the defense gave up 4.5 times as many points as last year.
I’m still optimistic though, because it was just down to a bad onside kick call..

That's fair, but I just feel like people forget that literally none of his defenses have been good other than last year which was about on-par with Banker's last defense.

I actually think the 2021 defense talent level might have been like top 4 in the B1G. And they finished like 7th in a lot of stats. So Chin basically takes the talent he has and underperforms by about 40%.

He got away with that stupid soft zone all year but teams have seen that fuckin video by now (we did the same thing all 12 games). Fitzgerald is WAY to fuckin smart to fall for that. Chinander is doing the EXACT same thing with way worse talent. It's going to be a train wreck.

However you're grading talent in this case, our offense is in a similar boat putting the defense in tougher situations which makes them grade out lower than perhaps they should. So, a little underperforming mixed in with bad situations.
