I just missed it. my freshman year was our last conference title and the season was viewed as a failure. then by the time I graduated Frank had pretty much destroyed the program

Beyond any sports related issues, we are approaching 18 years on from the Great Recession which is around the time that fertility rates, by a lot of measures, dropped. Budgeting anything is a hell of a lot easier when the assumption that your pool of consumers is going to continue to grow and you can take in more revenue to pay your expenses.

So on the actual university side shit is gonna get real iffy and as you noted it's a pattern basically everywhere

Falling fertility rates are a HUGE thing that no one is really talking about. Colleges are going to be one of the first places we see the effects at. Already seeing it with smaller liberal arts colleges losing enrollment and closing.

Also our current higher education model is completely broken with probably about 85% of degree programs being complete scams funded by taxpayer money with the goal of creating a debt enslaved and subservient youth brainwashed with the ideals preached in the scam degree programs. Fucked up shit. Whole system needs blown up.
