We have a couple mini trips planned this year - Chicago and Gulf Shore. Any recs would be great

Gulf Shores is fun, although kind of expensive. In the main tourist area, there are a dozen or two similar seafood/diner type restaurants... we ate at multiple of those, and they were all pretty good. In one of them, had our check picked up by an old local guy because of our cute kids - he owns the highly-reviewed Biscuit King's Cafe in nearby Fairhope, so I always recommend that place.

For Chicago trips, my recommendation is always to cancel your Chicago trip.

Kansas City for the draft
Chicago (use to live here in my early 20s)
New York - yearly trip

Nashville - possibly, always wanted to go
Dubai - possibly, visit family
Mexico - tentatively with family

I was in Antigua in Feb (that resort kind of sucked), just got back from a quick trip to Houston, go to Cancun in May, then Gulf Shores in June.

On a bit of a golf kick right now so plan on bringing the clubs along on both.
You’ll have to give some recommendations on Gulf Shores. I’ll be there in July

My wife is from Mobile so we go every year to see her family. Let me know what you’re looking for and I’m sure I can get you some recs. There’s a ton of good restaurants and bars down there.

Going to St. Lucia for our honeymoon in June. Anyone been?
We went in March of 2020 (got back right before things got crazy). We really enjoyed it. It was a little more low key and the local tours and excursions we did were a lot of fun.

Where are you staying?

my cop acquaintance who works in narcotics and has been down south on the border says that he would not go to Mexico under any circumstance

I think the adult-only Sandals' resort. I honestly haven't looked at more since we booked it lol

Not surprising. I don't know if I'm showing my American ignorance but it seems like the cartels run the country
