Breaking USC & UCLA Joining BIG 10

So USC, UCLA, Washington, Stanford, Oregon, and Notre Dame. That would put Big 10 at 20 teams. You could do 4 divisions of 5 teams.
West: USC, UCLA, Washington, Stanford, Oregon
Other West: Nebraska, Minnesota, Cockeye, Wisconsin, Northwestern
Midwest: Notre Dame, Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State
East: Michigan State, Michigan, Penn State, Maryland, Rutgers
Or you could do no divisions, whatevs

Play your 4 division teams and then rotate a different division every year. That gives you 9 conference games. I know that want to go away from “divisions” but that model seems more like pods and should work.

I like this model. The divisions could be named west, great plains, great lakes, and east

I believe it would be a tradition rich move that would put some balance back into the money chase. Also with these additions taking place 2024 - it would be a 1 year buy-out of their NBC TV deal which is when these decisions tend to take place, around the TV deals.
2 Biggest Reasons:
ND has the historical matchups with Michigan, Michigan State, USC. They would be a must watch National Game with so much of the B1G as well: Nebraska, Penn State, OSU, Wisconsin, on top of their historical matchups listed previously. Already has OSU on the schedule the next 2 years.
They fit the brand that the B1G seems to be going after for their additions - Tradition Rich Historical Powers.
2 Less Important Reasons - But still matter to traditionalists:
Geographically is a no brainer - Even though that is becoming increasingly less important as the landscape of CFB changes. At the same time - this USC/UCLA add is the first one I can think of that REALLY makes no sense geographically. Even Rutgers/Maryland looked like the B1G was working a more natural tie to expand from the Mid-Atlantic presence they already had.
They fit in from a brand of football perspective - although that's becoming less important each year as well.

My worry if they do no divisions is that the Big10 will make sure Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin receive easier schedules to assure that traditional Big10 schools are still on top of the conference. Then if any schools complain about schedules they'll tell them to take $$$ they are receiving from the conference and shut the fuck up! As I type this, I realize they are already doing this with cross over divisions.

Honestly getting to 2 huge conferences with an 8 team playoff is the best case scenario. You get four teams in from each conference so there's no more worrying about having a perfect record, you just get better games on the schedule and expand the field so that the cream of the crop makes the playoff each year.

I was also in the rock hard club that day, a combination of the first game getting cancelled after kickoff, top 5 hardest schedule every year, a QB with the yips, and plenty of other factors doesn't equal success.

If Big 10 adds Notre Dame then I bet Washington, Stanford, and Oregon are next. Then you add Colorado because of the Denver TV market and because Colorado has a lot of Big 10 alumni.

Would make recruiting easier by just being in the Big10 and SEC. Yeah the top teams would still be able to select their players but the mid to lower level teams would still get damn good talent because everybody will want to play in these 2 conferences. The NIL money will become too insane not to want to play in these conferences. It would essentially end up being a mini-NFL league. Also, any players that show promise outside of these conferences would just get poached via the transfer portal.

I wonder if they will do cool Non-Geographic Divisions in this new superconference...
It has to be something COOL, hip, cutting edge. It has to be a perfect synopsis of what the conference stands for. Maybe they could do:

Notre Dame would be massive and it would change everything and I bet the SEC would make a move for some ACC teams. Those ACC teams might be stuck in the ACC for a little while but without Notre Dame the ACC is basically dead in the water.
Add Notre Dame, add the big Pac schools, then take Virginia, UNC, Georgia Tech, maybe Boston College or Duke.
