I opened an account when they first started for like nine something a year. If I would have known Dean, Mongo and the crew were moving over I would have saved my money. The first couple days of the new board looked like it was going to be fun but after that it's been pretty lame.

Yes, your alias is your username. They want you to sign up now before June 1st to make sure you get your old alias/username if you want before everything gets moved over. I'm sure most everyone will be able to get their old name, they are just using it like the $1 subscription promo to get everyone to move over to the new site.
