Texas is the hot crazy chick that every conference thinks they can fix.

Conference is stuck in a tough spot because the call was potentially game-changing, and obviously wrong, and the refs can legally huddle & pick it up like they did, so there was not technically any error in the actions they took... but simultaneously, we all know it was due to essentially a video replay + Texas fans causing a delay like they're from Philadelphia or Boulder or something.

So do you sit there, refusing to correct your mistake that's on perpetual replay on TV & the stadium screens because in the natural flow of the game it wouldn't have been fixed, or get the right call & reward the bad behavior? Either way, they're going to get reamed.

Only solution I see is to summarily execute all Texas fans so it doesn't happen again.

The ball had also already been spotted. Wes says once that happens then they can't overturn it. I don't know if that is the case, but changing the call after trash gets thrown and with no delay of game is terrible. Terrible call to begin with, I agree. The "no Touchdown" and "no 1st down" reviews were terrible as well. 12th man will absolutely be throwing trash to change calls if rules don't change as well.

@alt f4 can you confirm what the rules are about picking up a flag?

You have until the next time the ball is put into play to correct any errors. I don't believe there is any actual rules or anything official's manuals stating when a penalty can be picked up. However, you never, ever, ever go back on a penalty after it's been preliminary signaled and especially announced. That discussion needs to happen right away.

Thanks A F4!

We will revisit this Saturday eve.

If you know you know. One of the worst decisions a coach has made for Georgia Florida game

Out with the old, and in with the new (billion dollar industry changes)

UGA has won 6 of the last 7. Gaytors took one in the Covid year 2020 after they had three weeks off to prepare for Georgia, and Georgia was coming off a game in KY where our starting defense was decimated. Still, Stetson Bennett and the boys got off to a quick 14-0 start before Stet was taken out of the game after injuring his shoulder and replaced by Dwan Mathis (yikes). To this day the FU loyal fans dream back to that 2020 team as the best they have had in decades despite finishing season 8-4.

UGA verses Florida record 56-44-2
Florida has a long history of trying to erase past history. If you ask a FU fan today when Florida football started they would say the 1990's. Before that they have tried to erase the earliest games played between the two and dispute when the rivalry started. Some try to erase the WWII era games. Understandable since one of those games UGA shut them out and scored 75. It's known as 75 and Oh!.
Despite Florida lately being a dumpster fire, they often get up for this game and both teams have won games they had no chance of winning in the past. So, although I am confidant that the Dawgs win Saturday there is always the chance of upset. I'm hoping for a shut out. It is one of the longest and last records they hold dear.
